Once again, this show never disappoints! And it's only gonna go up from here. Back when this first aired, I too was also worried about the half-charged gem and was left thinking about what it meant for the rest of season 2. But I love that they reference past episodes and Anne owning up to all of them. But Sasha also had some awesome character development, even if this means the beginnings of overthrowing the king. My favorite shot is her accepting the deal and she's shown only in shadow while the other toads are cowering in fear. Really shows this toxic power she wields.

I love the thematic connection of these two episodes, with both girls going through a trial to see if they are worthy of getting what they want. Both of them learning a similar lesson too, that your actions define you more than anything else. Although, Anne had to act selflessly to prove herself, whereas Sasha had to act selfishly to get what she wanted. I think the bitter-sweetness that came with both girl’s wins, made that parallel stand out more for me. Anne sticking to her moral gut-instinct even after successfully completing her trial, rushing back to save her friends without fully charging that gem is gonna come back to bite her, surely! Then Sasha proving herself worthy of being followed by the toads, cost her the people who already saw that worthiness in her. I think it paints a morally gray, or more realistic picture of how the writers want to handle their story. I think the two girls having similar outcomes here speaks to the notion that you should be doing the right thing, just because it’s the right thing to do! The writers are no stranger to showing us the harsh realities of a dangerous world like this, while still keeping this show enjoyable for all audiences! The endless piles of bones everywhere, all the jokes and plot points directly about death! Even Marcy and Maddie resurrecting that flea in last episode was kinda creepy😅 So I kinda took it as the writers saying “it’s fair game”, this show isn’t going to reward anyone with special treatment just because they’re the “good guy”. I think Sasha could get exactly what she wants out of her current mission, without ever having to change the crappy parts of herself, as shown here in how well she’s doing currently in her endeavours! Which I think will make her (hopefully) eventual turnaround feel that much more impactful and earned! She’ll be doing what’s right, just because she knows it’s the right thing to do! Similarly to how Anne instinctively does that now! The biggest difference to take away from these two stories, for me, would be that Anne walked away from her experience happy and Sasha walked away sad, despite both getting what they wanted. Just great stuff I really, really loved these two episodes! I think you’re right too! I don’t think Sasha will be joining the girls by the end of this season, I think things will most likely get worse between them before they gets better…. the real test for Sasha will be putting Anne and MarMar before her own self interests. She definitely felt the weight of her choices in this one so I have high hopes she’ll make the right decision next time. Touching on the glowing eyes thing that you noticed with Sasha, I noticed something similar in episode A with Anne when her gem began to charge!! Her eye was like half filled with blue for a moment. Maybe all three of them do have a special weapon like you theorised! If Anne got hold of her weapon maybe her eyes would glow completely blue? What ever happened to that sword Anne got from Tritonio back in season 1? That thing was blue, wasn’t it? I’d have to go back and see if her eyes ever lit up blue in that episode! Also we haven’t seen that sword pop back up since then, right? I’m paying attention I swear!🤣😅 I loved when Sprig was like “could it be invisiblee?” Then immediately falls face down in the snow, but just stays thereee!😂 The longer that shot went on without him moving, the funnier it got for me🤣🤣 I’m realising I didn’t pay much attention to Valerianna in the Bizarre Bazaar episode. I love that she uses her tail in place of her right arm! There were a couple of moments where she was using all of her fingers on that right hand respectively, like there’s an actual hand at the end of her tail or something???😂 I really liked that shot of the music box reflecting in her eyes, very cool and made me not trust her right off the bat! My favourite part of episode A was when Anne lost her coat, in the very next scene Marcy’s sharing her coat with Anne and the Plantars are all just huddled round them both…. My favouriteeee detail everrr🥹✨😭 Favourite shot from episode B was Sasha’s shadow on the wall as she stood strong in front of Aldo and the panel! With Percy and the other toad in that same shot too cowering inside her shadow, almost a little premonition of what’s to come in the episode, I liked it a lot!🔥 I could really go on and on, don’t temp me!🤣 but I’ll leave you with a thank you too mate, because yours was so lovely!✨ I truly don’t know where I’d be without the dweebdom and these reactions/discussions each week, I could be having the literal worst day ever and sit down, put one of these on and it just all melts away and I’m laughing in no time. I really appreciate that they had Anne reflect on her past mistakes, too. I think it’s a good lesson for kids- owning up to things you’re maybe not proud of, but promising to do better in the future instead of pretending like they didn’t even happen. Sasha definitely wields a LOT of toxic power. I believe if anyone can overthrow the King, it’s her. I would not want to cross her path, that’s for sure 😂😅

Oh my gosh Jordan this is a fantastic observation. I didn’t put the episode parallels together but now that you point it out, it seems so apparent! I really appreciate that the writers don’t favor Anne or Marcy over Sasha, either. There’s a true realism to their equal shares of both pain and triumph. It’s also exciting because it makes me feel like the show could go anywhere and conclude in endless ways. I somehow don’t see an entirely happy ending to Amphibia like we got in The Owl House, but a girl could be wrong! Oh my gosh okay so I didn’t notice Anne’s blue eye during my initial watch- through but I did during the edit! I also thought it was interesting that the blue was decreasing in her eye even though the glow was so bright. The reflection didn’t match what was happening around her. I wonder if charging the blue gem is somehow draining Anne? I don’t know how that makes sense yet lol but I’m just throwing it out there! And omg I am so glad I’m not the only one wondering what in the world happened to Anne’s sword 🤣 Did we lose it during Toad Tower? I was trying to remember but I don’t know for the life of me either. I ALSO PROMISE I’M PAYING ATTENTION 😂 Dude thank you so much for your kind words about the channel and the dweebdom 🥲 The feeling is extremely mutual.
