I'm so glad to be back in Amphibia with you especially since I'm having a bit of a dark night of the soul because a bunch of stuff hit me all at once today so I'm serious need of some levity. But first credit where credit is due since I hadn't commented in a bit. Rick & Morty actually pulled a pretty good season off after all! Apart from those 3 stinkers in the first half of the season the rest was actually good to incredible so thankfully I can stop making "The End is nigh" signs 😝 But it was definitely the most tumultuous season for sure it had some of my favorite episodes of the series and also some that I'm probably never going to watch again because they were just rough...and that hasn't happened before sure in the past there were episodes I didn't like as much as other but never any I'd skip when the playlist gets to that part. So yeah great season after all but still fingers crossed next one will have a bit less drastic variation in quality. Now to Amphibia not gonna talk much about the first half as it was mainly just cute and fun...I was definitely reminded tho that I share some of Sprig's personality traits...I may or may not have also gushed about girl before and mumbling with my crushing brain "Damn she is sooo cool" kind of under my breath but totally around everyone and basically everyone heard it including her 😅 I mean I don't care I don't embarrass my brain doesn't work like that but it was definitely not on purpose I was just my dorky self basically accidentally thinking out loud hehe. Also it actually worked out pretty well for me that time 😊 so sometimes being a dork with no filter pays off haha. For the second episode, it's been a minute since I first watched it so I'm not entirely sure what I thought had happened to the box, however I definitely didn't think the robot had anything to do with it, never crossed my mind at that point that robot was still just a vaguely looming figure that popped up occasionally. But it was definitely a possibility that I missed. I think I didn't think anything actually I was just shocked and curious as to what happened. Again soo glad to be back in Amphibia with you because from now on things are kicking into full gear hehe. My anticipation for you watching it is sky high hehe. Damn what I wouldn't give to sit next to you watching the rest of this hehe I'm vibrating with giddiness. You know the feeling when you KNOW you found the perfect gift for someone and can't wait to give it to them? That's kind of how I feel although obviously I have nothing to do with the show but the type of excitement to share something I love with you still feels similar. 😊 Alright I've said too much already back to moping in the corner after this short reprieve 😅

When HopPop took the box Anne was still the strange creature in his basement. And he did rescue the box when Anne lost it at the Market. I think the old frog deserves a pass.

Heeyyyyy AD! Great reaction as always! Glad you're feeling refreshed for the new year! I always struggle following through with my New Year's resolution, but my resolution for this year is to cut off all the junk food and to eat much healthier. 😁

For sureee, working-out consistency is top of the agenda in 2024 for me too!!💪 Holiday season did feel particularly draining though so I’m not mad at myself, and you shouldn’t be either, like you said it’s the easiest one to let go of, especially if you’re running on reserves some days✨ First episode was really sweet! 💚Sprivy forever💚 Also love strengthening the relationship between Ivy & her mum! I hope you’re right about these episodes all building towards something! Adds so much to the overall experience I think, to know that your attention was never taken for granted by the creators, and to be rewarded in the end!🌟 Okay, since the topic of tea came up a few times in that first episode, I HAD to ask…. I’ve heard a little rumour on the internet that kettles aren’t a thing in the US?? So naturally, I thought I’d ask the only Americans I know!🤣 Personally, I would be SO lost without my kettle!! I use it for my tea, coffee, instant noodles, some weeks that’s my fuel right there n the stove/cooker gets completely neglected LOL, which is a sad thought actually because I love cooking😅 So yeah, are kettles just not a thing there? I MUST KNOW!?🤣 Thank you in advance for always being such a good sport and indulging these “riveting” conversations I throw at you😂 Last thing on episode A, was the place where Ivy and her mum had their martial arts showdown the same spot where Sprig and Hop Pop fought that one time?? When they were deciding who gets to run the farm? Thats a cool detail if so, loved that episode✨ EPISODE B WAS AWESOME✨ I DID think it was the robot! The last frame of last week’s episode was our boy chugging along back to Wartwood so that made the most sense to me! But of courseeee, it was some ritualistic bugs who only come out once every 20 years to gather buried itemssss, WHY DIDNT WE THINK A THAT?!😭🤣 Anne not being able to sleep because she was so excited hit different because SAME, I feel that on a spiritual levelll!! Any time I got something fun or exciting the next day, best believe my mind is racing and it takes foreverrr for me to get off😂✨ Animation was top notch, I loved the atmosphere the storm brought to the whole episode! So sad to hear about Sprig & Polly’s parents:c Definitely not Hop Pop’s fault for being cautious, although I do agree that we should’ve been trying to figure this whole thing out as a team from the start! Oh hell yeahhh! One big episode next week, you got me pumped up now too!!🔥 Feels like it’s been a minute since we’ve seen Sasha so I wouldn’t be mad if we catch up with her and Grime next week! I keep wondering to myself who’s gonna find who first? I feel like worst case scenario for me would be Sash and Marcy linking back up without Anne! Not that I think Marcy would be easily swayed against Anne or anything! I just think if Anne & Marcy could find Sasha together that might be better….? Idk man, it’s a messy one, hope Sash can see the error of her ways before the inevitable reunion honestly, that’s best case scenario! Come back a little more self aware of her own suck-iness😂 -with a willingness to change! Oo ooh, have you heard “Need 2” by Pinegrove?? That is my jammm at the moment, just hits different! And you know me dude, gotta throw in my biannual song rec sooner or later😉😅 Lemme know how your weeks going too if you feel so inclined, always nice to hear from ya! I’m feeling the same way about coming back to Amphibia! It’s nice to have some lightness and wholesome content to look forward to each week. As much as I appreciate shows like Rick & Morty, Invincible and Arcane, these Disney shows have been an oasis of sorts in my life throughout the years and I’m so grateful to have found them through the channel :’) I completely agree with your Rick & Morty review. I thought the first few eps were shaky and then the second half of the season blew it out of the water for me! AWW! I love hearing that your unintentional murmurs worked out in your favor :D Definitely a very Sprig thing of you to do lol! I think there’s a little Sprig in all of us… He would definitely be a fellow dweeb. Maybe that’s why we all seem to resonate with that lovable lil guy so much. EEP!!! Reading your comments about the rest of this season/show are getting me so jazzed! I completely know what you mean about the “gift giving” sentiment. I feel the same way when I show media I love to my friends and family so that makes perfect sense to me :) Sending you a hug through the computer screen, friend. I hope your dark night of the soul turns into a transformative rebirth. I know a LOT of people going through hardships right now… Job losses, deaths in the family, health issues… Idk what’s in the air but I pray the hard times end for you soon ❤️

I feel the same way about it. Anne really didn't become "part of the family" til much later. I can understand why he was trying to protect Sprig and Polly, especially given what happened to their parents :(

Thanks so much for the sweet comment, as ALWAYS :') That sounds like a great resolution, but I feel you on the follow- through 🤣 I have a list of resolutions/affirmations that I wrote out for 2024 and keep them on my nightstand. My last 2 are: 'I forgive myself' and 'I treat each day as a brand new start'. I can be an "all or nothing" kind of person so I'm hoping this reminds me that even if I fall off the wagon for a bit with my resolutions, it's okay! I hope you remember to be gentle with yourself this year too 😊 ❤️

I know you were saying “riveting” sarcastically, but honestly I DO find these questions riveting lol! Of course I can’t speak for all of America but I myself do not own a kettle and just heat everything up on my stove! I think kettles are sooo sweet though and one of my roommates in LA had one and he would use it to heat up water for tea! I thought the forest clearing they were in for the karate match looked familiar but if I’m not mistaken Hop Pop and Sprig were fighting on stumps in a mud pit? And the idea was not to get knocked into the mud? At least this is how I remember it, but that’s not saying much because my memory is trash 9/10 🤣 I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one who thought the music box thief was the robot! Like, it made more sense than the CRABS, right!? 🤣 I guess not though, in Amphibia logic. I really enjoyed the shift in art style during Hop Pop’s flashback. Was that the first time we’ve seen a switch like that in the show…? Kind of reminded me of the Philip flashbacks in TOH. OMG I never even considered Marcy teaming up with Sasha and leaving Anne behind 😱 The way I would SOB. But I also don’t see a reunion between the 3 of them being all rainbows and butterflies either so who knows what could go down!? I’d never heard of Need 2 but it’s going in my saved songs along with all my other Jordan Jams 🥳 I’ve had Phase on repeat since you sent it to me a few weeks back! I’ll send a few back to you, for good measure :) ‘Am Ta’ by United Freedom Collective, ‘awake to see the city sleep’ by mommy, and ‘Little Black Balloon’ by Fog Lake are all go- to’s of mine atm…. So is Ariana Grande’s “Yes, and?” but idk what your feelings are on pop/dance music (although if I remember right you vibed with ‘Space Unicorn’ just as hard as I did back in the day 🤣) Hope you’re having a great week, friend! Ahhh thanks for the Alycia song recs this week, let’s gooo!!🤩🔥🔥🔥 Although all 3 are right up my street and lovely little bangers, the stand out for me is Little Black Balloonnn, I could just tell almost immediately that one was gonna hittt and it did not disappoint!! I’m just here for the good vibes when it comes to pop, I feel like it can be such a broad genre so there’s a lot that I’m not fond of, but absolutely “Yes, and?” went straight on the playlist🔥 That’s so awesome that you’ve been enjoying Phase, absolutely loooove that lil song so much!! The song Horizon from that same album is a good one too, the way it muffles and then slowly comes back in is awesome! Did you just manifest me starting a homemade jams business after retirement😂✨ or Jelly I think you guys call it, I think they’re the same thing, right..??😅 That actually just put a huge smile on my face, my nana has always been a mean savoury dish cook, which worked out great because my grandad’s a meaaan baker, dinner at their house NEVER disappointed as a kiddo lemme tell youuu🤩🔥 The only thing my nan would ever make that was sweet was these amazinggg homemade jamsss, she’d get all kinds of cute jars and make her own little labels for them✨ I used to get one of those bad boys at Christmas, birthdaysss, pretty much every time I visited at one point! I don’t know that she’s made any for quite some time now, I’m gonna ask her for her classic Strawberry I think for the next time I go up😋 All that’s to sayyy, although not intentional, I think you just gave me a great little hobby to start at one point, keep a part of my nan with me forever yk, ahh thanks dude!!😅❤️
