I ended up having myself a lil double featureee action with this week and last week’s reactions, which is NEVER a bad thinggg, so much to talk about with these episodes though so I’ll get right into it!🌟 Okay, as much as I adoreddd the fishing trip last week with Sprig’s utterly BEAUTIFUL singing, it really made me take a second look at Sylvia…. I mean what do we actually know about her? She shows back up out of the blue, I’m pretty sure she mentioned she hadn’t been back in Wartwood for years, right? -to rekindle her relationship with Hop Pop? Not too long after Anne shows up too! Don’t get me wrong I love her, she’s amazing, but I just don’t trust anything nice in this show outside of the immediate family😂😭 Maybe she’s been hired to get close to Anne to find out why she’s here? Maybe she’s looking for the calamity box!? It doesn’t help that the moral of one of this week’s episodes were “looks can be deceiving”😂, but idk, she’s too perfect and sweet and understanding!!✨😭 I’ll feel so horrible for misjudging her if it turns out I’m wrong, but that’s my prediction for the moment! I honestly hope I’m wrong just for Hop Pop’s sake, that would absolutely crush him I think💔 Speaking of Hop Pop, what a little sneak!! Does he really think Anne’s gonna buy that he “lost it” or something??? She’s gonna be SO MAD when that box doesn’t turn back up, especially after all the ish Hop Pop went through tryna teach her a lesson about taking better care of it! The whole situation reminds me so much of Gruncle Stan hiding his knowledge of the Journals from Dipper! I get that there’d be no mystery element for us the audience if he didn’t keep these secrets but damn, I just want him to tell Anne what’s going on and what he knows about the calamity box! I do totally understand where he’s coming from though, he knows Anne’s only lead to getting home is that box, she’s not thinking twice about using it if she gets the chance! If he really thinks it’s something dangerous to their world, then burying it and playing dumb is probably the best play he’s got…. So exciting though, to think about where we go from here because that finale is getting closer and closer🔥😁 I loved the effects of the curses on Sprig and Anne, I got total muppet vibes from Sprig, right before he turned into a complete fluff ball and the hair was just covering his face😂 Also when Hop Pop lifted the hair off his eyes for a second and he was like “Oh you fixed it!- aw…”🤣😭 Anne kinda looked like big bird from Sesame Street now that I think about it, like just the head-shape and face I guess😅 but yeah it really made me smile, I loved both those shows growing up!✨ Maddie absolutely skyrocketed up my list of favourite characters with this week’s episode, I completely took her at face value like the rest and she turned out to be such a badass!! When she just whipped up that concoction on the spot for Sprig and Anne creating a trail to where the curse was placed-!!! My mouth was agape!😂 The fight too was so sick, I hope to see much more of her from here on out now that the awkward situation with Sprig is resolved! Lastly Sprig is THE most talented little dude around and I love him🥹 It broke my heart when he ripped the consume off himself in frustration at Hop Pop, then what followed was one of the most touching scenes in the show so far🥺 I love the message it sends that you should do things because you enjoy doing them, rather than in hope of some kind of gain. Not to shun anyone who uses their talent for gain of course, like that’s literally how to survive on earth 101😂 One of these days I’m hopefully gonna get the chance to learn piano, not because I think it’d get me anywhere, but because I’d love to! I’ve always connected so much with piano music, it just hits me in the deepest parts of my soul soul, “Nemo egg” instantly comes to mind😭 The Interstellar soundtrack, Clair de Luneee, have you heard “Wet Hands” by C418? If you played yourself any minecraft back in the day you’ll probably recognise it! Oh daaaaaamn Jordan! Coming in with the realness right off the bat this week lol! I kind of love that you don’t trust Sylvia and now it’s making me not trust her too 🤣 I would feel so sad for Hop Pop too but dang that would be a twisted television reveal! “What a little sneak” 🤣 Jordan your comments are cracking me up this week. He WAS a little sneak in that episode! It’s always funny to me how much drama in shows could be resolved by basic communication but like you said- what would be the fun in that? I feel sorry for both Anne and Hop Pop in this situation. I feels very much like a no- win scenario right now, even though we still know so little. Anne was TOTALLY giving Big Bird vibes in this one! And oh my gosh I love Maddie after this episode, too. She was a fun side character in the first few episodes she was in- giving super creepy vibes. But now I’d love to see her in even more episodes and get to know her better! I think her magic/fighting skills will come back into play eventually. Especially if this Toad V Frog war that we seem to be gearing up to actually happens. I’ve been talking a lot with the people in my life about this sentiment recently. I feel like 2023 hustle culture makes us believe that everything we do in life should be for monetary gain or societal praise. I’m a firm believer that if you derive joy from something (as long as it’s not hurting anyone else of course lol!), that should be enough. That is enough. I loved seeing that theme play out in this episode as well. It’s wild when life does that- throws a thought your way and then you see it reflected in everything. You should absolutely learn the piano one day! Wanting to is enough of a reason in my book. And OMG don’t even get me started on Thomas Newman. Probably my favorite composer of all time and “Nemo Egg” does something to me too 😭 I clutch my pearls and get misty- eyed every time 🥺❤️ Love Clare De Lune and Interstellar too. I hadn’t heard Wet Hands but listened to it while writing the rest of this comment and it’s so pretty :’) I can imagine what it would be like to have the sentimentality of actually playing the game attached to it, too. I didn’t even think of it like that but FR, Maddie would be our greatest ally it seems when facing all out war! The Plantars better stay in those good graces or we’re screwed for sure!!😂😭 I couldn’t agree more with your thoughts mate, it’s so important to have those things in your life that you just do for you, just because you wanna! I don’t draw anywhere near as often as I used to but it makes me so happy when I get a minute to whip something up yk, takes me back to being a shorter version of myself, but also just that feeling of creating an image purely from your brain and it being there in physical form for you to look back on, never gets old for me!✨ Absolutely yeah piano is coming real soon, i’m gonna have the fastest key hitters in the west mark my words!😅🎹 Oh man, I can see immediately why that song is so special to you, to use one of my favourite phrases of yours “that is just DARLING!”😭✨ I never had the pleasure of playing Kingdom Hearts growing up but if every other aspect of the game matches the soundtrack I think it’s safe to say I missed out!🌟 I’m so glad you enjoyed Wet Hands too homie, they just didn’t have to go so hard for a block game but I ADORE them for doing so!!🤣🔥 Literally the comments on lovely little pieces of music like these restore my faith in humanityyyy, nostalgia is such a powerful feeling, but being able to connect with a total stranger over that shared feeling is even more so I think✨

Maddie episode! I think I mentioned a while back that I had a feeling Maddie was actually a sweetheart and not nearly as scary as she came across, and it looks like I may have been right. (Then again, like Sylvia, I have a soft spot for the weird ones) With regards to Cursed, can I just say that it absolutely cracked me up that Anne's regular chicken legs turned into real chicken legs without any change in their shape? 🤣 Another thing that killed me was how Anne used some of the same ascii smiley faces that I've used in the past when she wrote the breakup letter: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 🤣🤣 Maddie showed up with the Plantar's bread order...and the basket literally had the dolls of Anne and Sprig that Maddie was cooking in the oven in it. 🤣 Also, Maddie has got some moves. She came up with a curse on the spot under duress which is pretty impressive...pretty smart. One last thing from Cursed: I loved how, when they were headed to Barry's, Anne randomly tried to fly, subsequently fell on her face and said "Meh, worth a shot!" while breaking the 4th wall. And no review of this episode would be complete without.........THE DARK ARTS! lol Fiddle Me This: As a relatively poor cello player, I can say that Sprig is super impressive on violin. I absolutely love that Hop Pop has a monthly fund set aside purely for ascots 🤣 On the note of Sprig's song (Flight of the Moth) I noticed that it was in the same key as the Amphibia intro song, but with slightly different and more minor chords. I was curious who wrote it (because it's really good) and I found out that it was a composer named TJ Hill, who, it turns out, actually wrote the music for The Owl House as well! That bat was COMPLETELY unexpected! One last thing: Sprig and the family were awfully quick to discount that tour they were offered. I mean...I get it that they wanted to stay together, but couldn't there have been some compromise? that's a pretty huge opportunity, after all. Either way, hope things are going well in you next of the woods. Usually my comments are a bit more prompt, but things have been a bit hectic recently!

MADDIE EPISODE! A very easy “where’s Maddie” for us 😎 You were spot- on about dear Madeline. She’s a weird one & a total sweetheart (AKA my kryptonite) Omg HOW did I not pick up the chicken legs thing!? That is so freaking funny 🤣 And the smiley faces! AND THE BREAD BASKET OMG I MISSED THAT TOO! This show puts in so many fun, tiny details and I just love the creators for that. They did NOT need to go this hard for a Disney show but they did :’) Also super grateful for patrons like you that point these things out! I wonder who they hired to play the fiddle as Sprig? They are amazing! And oooh it’s so cool that TJ worked for the Owl House as well! Maybe they were the one who came up with Raine’s bard song? I’m sorry things have been hectic on your end >.< I’ve been feeling that as well so maybe there’s something in the air. Keep on chugging along, friend! We’ll get through through the busy season and come out on the other side better than ever! ✨✨
