Damn, that first one WAS kinda messed up😅 yeah, like showing us all those abandoned snails was crazyyyy, those bullfrogs have been EATIN😭😭😭 I think the stereotype or implication that animation is for kids or whatever, be it ridiculous, does makes it so much more jarring when the creators just go “what the hell!” They’re able to push the boundaries so much further than something more forthright about its age rating I think, like the way they can just jump to opposite ends of the spectrum, even just in these two episodes, from downright horrifying, straight to a wholesome adventure to find a mythical being. It’s a really beautiful medium and I’m glad creators are given that leeway these days to take risks! I mean kids grow up faster and faster every generation it seems, I think they can handle a little spookyness! As for you my friend, I hope this episode is as bad as it gets bless you lol😂😂😭 I loved the way they built tension showing them all going to bed and the hallways filled with noise, it made it so much more scary when all of a sudden it was silent and Polly went to each room and found them all empty and dark, that kind of stuff is what really freaks me out, I always find myself way less scared when the “monster” is eventually revealed, the uncertainty gets me the most! Really well done from them I loved it!! Lastly Bessie just needs to be incorporated into every episode, they can find a way, if they have to sacrifice interesting story to make it happen it then so be it, absolute heart and soul of the show🥹✨ I adored this Anne and Wally team up, not only did it turn out to be such a cute friendship, but that whole episode just gave me such a warm feeling☺️ It was simple, but not in a bad way, they were just looking for a Moss man, and bonding along the way! “One-shoe Anne” made me laugh, I love when you and some patrons pointed out how she will always go back to that messy state with a shoe missing, even after being dressed up all nice, that’s just her default skin🤣 I couldn’t agree more with the points you made about Anne’s new sense of self, and how she might not necessarily fit back into her role in the friendship group with her girls now, the closer we get to the end of season 1 the more excited I am to see these dudes reunited! It’s gonna be interesting I think we can count on that for sure! Question for you mate, would you ratherrr…. Spend an hour locked in that Inn trying not to get eaten by the cannibals, orrrr spend an entire night in a dark room watching THE MOST spooky scary movies?? -with unsalted popcorn😂 That’s a good one too actually, do you like sweet or salty popcorn better? I’m more of a salty guy myself, or I sometimes get the two mixed when I’m at the movies!🔥 hope you’re having a great week g, this was just what I needed today, biggest smile on my face right now✨

Good call on Maddie in the intro! I didn't even think of that and never noticed it. Night at the Inn: That B&B was immediately sus to me as well. It was almost TOO nice. Which makes sense, since the goal was to lure travelers in. I'm surprised that Polly didn't have some insane weapons she could pull out of her pocket. ...was that a straight jacket on the bed that Polly was jumping on? MORE DOLLS. WHY? WHY? The phrase "The banality of evil" comes to mind with this episode. The cannibals committing these heinous crimes were just so..."normal". And seriously, we need a therapist in Wartwood. Now we have extreme trauma survivors who need some help! Bessie is best girl! Wally and Anne: "one eyed Wally" 🤣 Is that the first time they've referred to him in that way? Goonies reference FTW! (one-eyed Willy) Speaking of that, can we PLEASE get Anne another shoe? Was "the moss man" a reference to "the moth man?" "Wally, you saved my phone! Oh yeah, and my life" 🤣 I also really liked how she leaned into it at the end. If you're a weirdo, put it front and center! Lean into it. I also have a soft spot for "weirdos". Wally's little song at the end tugged at my heartstrings. They really do a great job of making these characters complex and relatable.

LMAO yes, those bullfrogs HAVE been eatin! 🤣😭 I never thought about “kids” shows from that perspective, but you’re absolutely right. The shifts in tone are much swifter and more dramatic than in adult shows (generally), and those random twists are part of what makes Amphibia and other animated shows so dang charming (well, excluding the cannibalism, of course 😅). Oh my god even just reading your recap of Polly going from room to room was building the tension for me again 🤣 And I fully agree- the imagined monster is always scarier than the real one… Although this is coming from someone who’s probably never seen an ACTUAL scary movie before. Hereditary, wassup 🙈 HAHAHA Bessie supremacy!!! I’m all here for it. Compromise the entire arc of the series if you must, my girl Bessie deserves to shine 💖 Anne’s one-shoe skin is so funny to me! I think it was episode 1 that I made a comment like, “We need to find Anne another shoe,” and someone in the YouTube comments said: Nobody tell her. And now I know what they meant 🤣 
The Alycia stuck in the AU where all of our “would you rather”s actually come true is screaming rn LOL Oh gosh... How bad is it that I’m actually leaning cannibal lock- in? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 No, No… Scary movie marathon because the danger would be imagined instead of imminent….. Oh wait I just saw the popcorn is unsalted. Cannibal lock-in it is! 😂 
Well, now I need YOUR answer to this question, too! I’ve got a total sweet-tooth but if it’s popcorn, salty all the way 😎 The feeling is so mutual my friend. Thank you for your thoughtful comment and the good laughs, as always. Have an awesome weekend :)

That is TERRIFYING We gotta pull back on the dolls, fam. Too much spook for me 🙈 Oof, I know, part of what made that family so scary is the way they were casually chatting at the dinner table about what (who!) they were going to eat >.< Amphibia is behind on mental health awareness and they really, really could use some psychologists there hahaha Bessie IS best girl! Jordan was just saying in his comment above this that having a Bessie moment in every episode would be ideal 🥺 Her “chirp-chirps” make my heart sing. WALLY & ANNE: OH!!! I KNEW I’d heard one-eyed ~someone~ before. It’s been ages since I’ve seen that film I’m just going to copy and paste what I wrote in the comment above here because I know you’ll appreciate it too lol: I think it was episode 1 that I made a comment like, “We need to find Anne another shoe,” and someone in the YouTube comments said, "Nobody tell her." And now I know what they meant 🤣 I didn’t catch the moth- man reference during my reaction but while I was editing I realized I bet that’s what they meant. I’m from WV so we were always talking about the moth-man growing up! It scared the crap out of me taking backroads alone at night for fear of running into him 😱😅 The “you saved my phone” line was TOO good. Such a slam on gen Z... well, on all of us really hahaha Oh man, Wally’s song at the end was so sweet. You can tell Anne was touched by that just as much as he was touched by her :’)

Hey, if you managed to sit through that then give yourself some serious credit mate for real!!🔥 Ooooo I’d definitely have to go for the horror movie marathon!! Upon taking another quick look, it may have been a bath robe. But when I saw it for a few seconds at first it DID sort of resemble a straight jacket. If it was, I thought it was a hilarious touch.
