- I really like the editing of the bridge scene. At first I thought, Vi and Silco would look at each other again, but then I realized that this was impossible. They were at least one- or two-hundred meters apart with a bunch of enforcers between them and lots of smoke. But both faces showed the same worry about Jinx. 😭 - Why did Vi gave the name of her sister away? Firstly, Vi wants revenge, she wants to fight. My guess is, she knows the council would only spring into action against Silco, if they get proof and names and she doesn't want them to go after the firelights. Maybe she thinks Silco can only be brought down with the help of the council. And only if Silco is brought down, she could get to her sister, thats all she cares about in this moment. Revenge and getting her sister back. Maybe she thinks she could get to her sister before the Enforcers do or she could protect her, when she is with the enforcers? I think she still misreads the situation of her sister horribly. She still doesn't get how Jinx' mind works, that Powder and Jinx are the same and she can't save one from the other. But how could she? She still had no chance to talk with her sister, right now she once again doesn't even know, if Jinx is still alive. 😭🙈 - Caitlyn prefers a diplomatic solution, you can see her shock, when Jayce talks about going in by force. At the firelights she said, the city needs healing and war certainly heals nothing. - Vi and the blonde councillor perfectly demonstrated how estranged the people of both cities are from each other. They could have talked this through and maybe could've gotten to a solution similar to the one Vi and Jayce came up with. A targeted operation to weaken and put pressure on Silco and maybe get Jinx, paralleled with an offer to negotiate about peace between the cities. But no, they insist on their own view and react with throwing out and storming off. It's so frustrating.😤 - More wonderful little Vi/Cait moments at the council meeting: The way Vi looks at Caitlyn, while she talks or when she takes Caits hand for a second, to signalise "thank you, but it's okay". I love seeing those two together so much. 💖 And when momma Kiramman nods her daughter to follow her girl, that officially puts her in my good books.😊 - The break-up in the rain. Why does it always have to rain? Vi reacts as expected. She pushes away who she loves, to protect this person. She wants to fight, when Caitlyn doesn't and I could imagine, she already thinks about contacting Jayce, the only one in the council who wants to fight and she knew Caitlyn trusts. She probably thinks she protects Caitlyn the best, when they're seperated. The same (very understandable) mistake she made with Powder. She doesn't take the feelings of the people she leaves behind into account. They won't step back for a second, while she puts herself in danger. 🤔 - Jayce and his hammer, Vi and her gauntlets (yeah, they're officially Jayces, but I doubt she will give them back)! And what a spectacular hammer/blast gun it is. The fight at the shimmer factory shows perfectly, how much hextech is superior to shimmer-tech. And the shimmer monsters in battle suits were really impressive. Both technologies combined would be really frightening. On the other hand, this fight was a horrible reality check for him. The accidentally killed kid, all the other kids working in the factory alongside the grown-ups, not because Silco is exeptionally gruesome (well, he is), but because their life down there left them no choice. When all this sinks in, he begins to understand what Mel was saying, what horrors a war would cause. - Victors run along the boats is such a wonderful moment and flashback to his childhood days. I love the little stumble and uncoordinated way he runs at the beginning, showing he never ran in his life before. - Poor Sky. Her arc comes to a tragic ending. You said it best, she really was the purest among all of them. At least she died while trying to save the love of her life. It's these unnecessary deaths all the time, that hit me the most. (Sky, the child in the factory, the pink haired girl, Mylo, Clagger, all the others) 😭 - And finally the shower scene, my most loved moment of the episode, when Caitlyn bites her lip and shakes her head while reflecting her conversation with Vi and deciding to not give her up...💖😍 - ...followed by the most devastating moment in this episode, Jinx showing up behind a naked (and therefore extremely vulnerable) Caitlyn. (That purple glowing eye... 😱) I swear my heart skipped a beat when Jinx showed up in the mirror. 🙈 Please be alive next episode, please be alive next episode, please be alive...😨😨🙏🙏 Once again, can't wait to watch the great finale along with you again and read all those insightful and generally wonderful comments of you all. 😊

This is gonna be a tough week, can't wait to see the finale. I've never really played LoL, but I did know some things about the game, so I picked up on a lot of cool "easter eggs" I guess you could say, while watching this series, and the moment VI got her gauntlets and Jayce began wielding the hammer, my hype levels immediately skyrocketed. Anyways I have like 0 predictions except that the finale is probably gonna be even more wild, and cause even more P a i n.

i wholeheartedly look forward to every person who writes off conclusions about Silco and just skims over the 22 min mark. He is genuinely the epitome of "trying to do what he can, but in the wrong way". sure, we have seen jinx kill animals with no remorse and others do questionable acts an be understood. but 9 will show just why people make full length dives into describing why he is the center of attention for the entire show

I really love what this show did with that fight scene—not saying that I wanted the kid to die or anything, but just from a storytelling perspective. Because I think in pretty much every reaction I’ve seen to this episode the reactor(s) can’t help but get hyped during the fight scene. From the music to the bright colors to the cool moves the audience gets sucked into the fight alongside the main characters and starts cheering for Jayce and Vi and then BAM. Jayce killed a child. The scene reminds us as well as the characters that fighting and war isn’t just some fun game, but that there are real, serious consequences.

Those fuckers did us DIRTY with that ending, my god…. 🤕💀🤣 What a masterpiece of an episode though, I can’t get over how much happened in that, so much intensity and pain and heartbreak but so perfectly balanced with these beautiful, quiet little moments just between two characters - I’M LOOKING AT YOU VI & CAIT!!!🥺❤️‍🔥😭 - Have I mentioned I adore this show recently??? It’s perfection and yeah I’m not sure anything will ever come close to this again, maybe season 2 which I hope is gonna be a thing! That’s gonna be a thing right!??😂✨❤️‍🔥 Where do I even start with thisss lolll. Definitely Jinx🥺😢😭 What a rollercoaster her story was this episode, they let us mourn for way too long in the beginning lol, she looked completely gone on the bridge. talk about hard to freaking watch, that whole sequence of her being revived was just awful, like I felt sick to my stomach. They really got the point across of how painful an experience that would be, had me so messed up:c How Ekko got off with nothing but a busted leg I’m not 100% sure, maybe he wasn’t as close to the explosion? but let’s not look too much into that😂 All jokes aside though I’m so frickin happy Ekko’s still with us, like what a brilliant character with so much more to offer to this show!!!🔥 Staying on Jinx, I get what you mean mate, as much as I wanted her to live, this is not it! She’s been through sooo much and never had the opportunity to deal with any of her trauma, now this bro, I don’t even know if any remnants of Powder would still be in there after she wakes up, like that’s a lot of damage:/ This was an especially dark one it felt like to me! Not that this show hasn’t just been a smorgasbord of trauma since episode 3 but you know what I mean😂 As I’m writing this I wonder if there’s a different director for each episode actually? I’ll have to check on that but these last few have had quite a unique style to each other I think! I adored the way this episode was done especially though! The editing when jinx was drifting in and out of consciousness on the table immediately comes to mind, legit couldn’t breathe there for a second! The transition from Vi’s face to Jinx as they’re lay in the same position, amazing but crushing:/ The scene with Sky and Viktor, once again just devastating, but it was too stunning not to mention! - Side note, what exactly did Viktor do to these writers to deserve this man, give my boy a break he’s got enough on his plate as it is😭- That slow dolly zoom on Mel when she saw her mother again also was so perfect, especially after that amazing opener to the episode it had such a great impact! They gave us the most brilliant perspective on her character through that short sequence in the beginning, I feel like I understand her and some of her decision making a lot more now after this! You honestly summed up how awesome that final fight was perfectly but I just wanna echo that, IT WAS INCREDIBLE, ACTION PACKED AND AMAZING, ALSO VI IS THE MOST BADASS CHARACTER OF ALL TIME please anyone fight me on that😂 and just how they snap you back to reality so fast with THAT death…. I’ve never gone from the biggest smile and just pure joy on my face to just pure horror in such quick succession💔 Lastly I loved the connection you made between the two Caitlyn scenes, I really enjoyed that scene when I first saw it but never made that connection when watching this one! Especially the use of and then lack of an umbrella in the two scenes showing how she’s no longer sheltered from the harsh realities of the world she lives in, or gated away from it! Really good stuff and just another reason why watching these shows with friends is a never ending gift🎁✨

About Ekko: Let's get into it a bit, just for arguments sake. 😉😊 We know from episode 4, where Jinx plays with her grenades, that you have approximatley 5 seconds between activation and explosion. Let's say, he needed 2 seconds to realize that she has activated the grenade in her hand, he still had 3 seconds to react. It has been established that Ekko is quick and let's not forget, he wears some kind of armor that stopped a bullet on a short distance. So I would say it was pretty believable.🙂 About Vi: I would love to play devils advocat and challenge you on that, the only problem is -- I'm one-hundred percent with you on that matter! 🤣😍 The fight wasn't as hard to see for me. Of course the accidental killing of the child shocked me, but I never saw the fight as "cool" from the beginning. While it was very cool animated and filmed, we saw enough other fights in this show to always see the terror behind the cool images. Think of the killed enforcers falling down like raindrops or the way Jayce and Vi smashed the shimmer-dudes in their battle suits. 🙈 I made that transition from pure joy ("yeah, go on and get your girl back!") to bone chilling horror ("please be alive, please be alive") during Caits shower scene. In about five seconds. 😱🙈

If Vi and whatsherface don't kiss I won't be disappointed. I see the tension same as you, but there's hasn't been enough, IMO, to justify a kiss like there was for, say, Lumity. They need a real date first, and pounding bad guys isn't a date (unless you're Starco).

I thought it was an interesting choice on Vi’s part to give her sister’s name as well. Maybe she believes at this point that Powder is really gone? Regardless I thought it was sweet that Cait hesitated to put her name forward in consideration of Vi. Hahaha I doubt Jayce will ever see those gauntlets again either 🤣 And what a gut-punch to have us watch one of the coolest fight scenes in the show- rooting for Vi and Jayce the whole time… just to reveal who they were actually fighting :( I didn’t see Sky’s death coming at all! You said it well yourself- just so unnecessary. I’m glad to hear I wasn’t the only one who interpreted the shower scene a moment of decisiveness! I felt like the resolve in Cait’s eyes and the swelling on the music were saying she was going to go after her. But after watching it again I wasn’t sure if maybe she was just feeling really upset about it. I missed Jinx in the background during my first watch-through but caught her during my edit and it gave me the BIGGEST jumpscare 🤣 If she kills off Caitlin I’m flipping tables!!!!!! I know I’ve said it before but seriously THANK YOU, SA, for your thoughtful comments. I look forward to reading them every week and you always catch so many cool details and moments I miss! It makes me feel so lucky to have this platform and community 💖

It must be so cool experiencing Arcane from that perspective… waiting for the characters to grow into who you know them as in the game. The payoff would be so satisfying :D And lol “P a i n” is actually the name of this show, I’m convinced.

I was saying this to Mad in a comment above this: The way this show manages to show shades of moral grey astounds me. Few choices made by the characters are black and white…right or wrong. Like Silco bringing back Jinx with shimmer. He’s acting as a father, in the best way that he knows how… Whether we agree with his actions is neither here nor there.

This show has just stolen my heart in every possible way and I’m floored by how much love and attention to detail was poured into this series. I will never love a show again as much as this, I swear >.< When Silco picks Jinx up on the bridge and her hair is just hanging straight down gave me chills. Her braids always had just as much life as she did- twirling and dancing around. And to see her body and hair limp like that was a doozy… SPEAKING of doozies- yeah, that shimmer scene had me fucked up too. I told Silver (in a comment above this) I actually had a nightmare about it the day I edited this episode 🤣 It was so unnerving to watch the scene bit-by-bit like I have to do when I edit. And Jinx’s voice artist, my god. Talk about a performance. She made that scene so believable; I sometimes forget these are just animated characters! “How Ekko got off with nothing but a busted leg I’m not 100% sure” LOL same, my dude, same! Ekko is the real Jesus Christ Superstar because that mf rose from the dead 🤣 I’m so happy he’s still around too, though. His character is just so dang likable and I think him and Heimerdinger working together could be a really good thing for both parties. That’s a great question about the directors. And I agree- 7 and 8 felt very different from one another. And they both felt different from 1-6! But maybe that’s just a sign of the 3rd act and things really heating up? HAHAHA Viktor is best boy! Protec at all costs! It was such a gut-punch to have us watch one of the coolest fight scenes in the show- rooting for Vi and Jayce the whole time… just to reveal who they were actually fighting :( Thank you for the recognition about the Cait rain scenes! I wasn’t sure if I was reaching with that lol! And I agree- watching this show with you guys has made the experience 1000x cooler 🥺❤️

About the shower scene: I think it is both. She is really upset about the way Vi ended their blossoming relationship before it really started, but I interpret her rewinding their goodbye as the moment she realises she fell in love with this girl and isn't willing to let her go that easily. Unfortunately we will never know what she would have done next. 🙈😭 And I can only return the compliment. Thank you for your honest, touching, funny and kind reactions every week! It is a pleasure to watch and talk about it afterwards with you and all the other patrons.😊✨

SERIOUSLY THOUGH, these voice actors are like ridiculously good, I feel like me, a real person doesn’t talk and act as believably as some of these guys😂 There’s just something about the way Vi said “I’m a slug monster with venom for ooze”, for me, its like the mic is just in her voice box or something lol like how GOOD everything sounds in this show just never gets old for me✨

Here's an afterthought: Will we ever learn what project Sky was working on, that she wanted to present to Viktor? She must have been very smart to not only be accepted by the academy, but also be assigned to assist the two young star scientists of the academy in their hextech research. She's been around them the hole time after all. 🤔 By the way, Sky professed her love in the most beautiful way and it's a shame Viktor never heard her say it: "Everything you do inspires me." 💖
