Phew, what a heart-wrenching ending of act 2. Once again Vi was taken away from Powder/Jinx, once again Powder/Jinx was left behind, feeling abandoned. Thoughts and observations on this one: - This is a bit of speculation from my side, but I think, in the beginning we saw, that Viktor (probably together with Jayce) was the only one who actually did something good for the people of the undercity. In the flashback we see the water the kids are bathing in is soiled, oily and full of junk. When the grown-up Viktor talks to Heimerdinger, we see the same place, only now the junk is gone, the water is clear and there is a huge sewage plant or some kind of pump station, where they're sitting in. Heimerdinger says: "You should be proud of what you've accomplished, Viktor." and we see the the building as a whole. Also you can see that the machine parts, the cogs and levers are the same type he used in his toy boat, only in xxxl. ;) That tells me, that he built it as part of his pledge to make things better for the undercity. - The little girl in the flashback, who is looking at Young Viktor is Sky, his and Jayce's lab-assistant. She has apparently a huge crush on him since their childhood days in the undercity, but never had the courage to tell him. Who knows how much it had cost her to ask him to walk home together with her in the last epsiode, only to be turned down by him. He only seems to live for his work. And now that his time is drastically shortened, even more so. Is their any non-tragic love story in this show?? - Speaking of love stories. Until this morning Jayce was Mel's useful toy, her second vote in the council (the old councillor being the third) and her way to more power, wealth and - I assume ;) - great sex. Now he shows his vulnerability to her and to her surprise, she is touched by it. She seems to develop feelings for him as well and opens up to him a bit. Jayce was always attracted to her, right from their first real meeting that night at the academy.

- I love that Jinx persistently calls Thieram the barkeeper Chuck. He is extremely nervous around her. Honestly I would be, too. - Thieram the barkeeper was one of Silco's men at the ship during the attack of the firelights, he was knocked out in the beginning by the leader of the firelights. - Jinx get's her drink in the same cup she used as a child, from the same kind of bottle we saw Vander pouring her a drink. She get's it with a straw, just like from Vander. She even sits in the same spot. Oh these little moments where Powder shines through. The more I learn about Jinx, the more it breaks my heart. - It would be wise to always look out for tripwire when you're in Jinx' territory. XD - Sevika is cold. How she pulled out all the stops to make Jinx loose her shit, oh man. She put the thought of Vi replacing her with Caitlyn in Jinx' head. Sevika wants war and a riled up Jinx is a good way to escalate things. - The sign at the water tower is the same as at the Last Drop, Silcos eye. Only this time in purple. - Vi lead them to her early childhood home, the last place with happy memories for the sisters. I wonder what it looked like before this place became the last refuge for the outcasts and homeless. - Did you hear Vanders words echo in Vi's mind, when Caitlyn tells her that she has a good heart? I miss him... - When Vi regaines conciousness, she sees her mother and little Powder looking at her, and her mother calling her name, but with Caitlyns voice. - Oh, and Caitlyn. My romantic heart jumped and cheered at their lingering look after Caitlyn calmed Vi down. And did you see how nervous Caitlyn got afterwards and quickly changed the subject? She noticed it too. &lt;3 - Caitlyn traded her gun! Her custom-made gun she had since she was old enough to hold a gun (as you could see in the painting in the second episode). It was pretty much an extension of herself and she traded it for medicine for Vi without any hesitation... &lt;3 - I am totally with you about the leader of the firelights. It has to be Ekko, he is the only one we still don't know anything about. That would also explain why Jinx didn't attack him directly at the ship, only the firelights around him. Powder wouldn't let her kill the only remaining link to her past. Following people unseen also fits perfectly into what we know about Ekko.

The scene where Jinx lit the flare touched me so deeply. You made a great point in comparing it to when she killed the crow and it reminded me of something you said in the discussion of the last episode: that killing doesn't really affect her anymore. I think you're right. But with trauma something that can happen is dissociation with emotions. Death is something that's so close to Jinx and so painful that her unconscious has to basically wall it off and prevent any empathy. What we saw when Jinx pulled that pin is that Powder is still there. She's hurt, and lost, and alone. But she's still there.

- About Marcus: Could there be a more vicious thread to him than that of his daughter in her child's room? He showed him he can get them everywhere and anytime, despite him commanding all the enforcers of Piltover. Silco was so furious because he was lied to and the returning Vi threatens to take Jinx away from him. - As I said last time, poor little Ren will suffer the most when Marcus' actions fall back on him. :( - Heimerdingers pet seems very perceptive of his moods. It is angry when he is angry, it relaxes when he is calm, it is curious when he is curious. If you want to know how Heimerdinger feels, look at his pet. - Throwing Heimerdinger out of the council seems a bit much, but what choice did Jayce have? I guess Heimerdinger has seen terrible things that happend because of the (mis)use of magic and that fear lead him to do nothing and suppressing the research of magic, much like Vanders fear for the safety of his adopted children prevented him from fighting against the topside and turned the people to Silco. I am with Jayce on that matter, Heimerdingers inactions widened the rift between Piltover and Zaun. And he threatened to destroy the hexcore. That is nothing but a death sentence for Viktor. Should Jayce stand aside and watch his best friend die, while they have the technology to highly likely prevent that? Heimerdinger also never answers one of the questions Jayce and Viktor ask him. He always deflects and changes the subject. - The whole sequence from the water tower to the end of the episode was just brilliant. It was tragic, moving, heartbreaking and so extremely well done. Vi finally worked together with Caitlyn, she saw her trying to bring the water tower down and picked up on it instead of fighting against Silcos shimmer monsters. I got goosebumps when Jinx used the flare she got all those years ago from Vi. The music! The tormented ghosts of Mylo and Clagger on Jinx' back! - "Are you real?" were the most heartbreaking words I've heard since episode three. :_( - Vi and Powder didn't get the chance to really reunite - when Caitlyn entered the scene Sevikas words took full effect and turned Jinx immediatly against her. Of course it didn't help that Caitlyn indeed is an enforcer, the ultimate enemy from Jinx' point of view. The attack of the firelights then ended all attempts to talk. - The whole time Vi is the only one who really has no idea what that blue stone was and why everbody seems so keen to get their hands on it. - One of the firelights seems to be a child and one a ?wolf? - The one who got in a boxing fight with Vi and knocks her unconcious at the end of the fight. I'm sure he will feel Vi's punches for the next days. - I don't think the crows have anything to do with the firelights, they're just omnipresent in this world and depict change, disaster, misfortune.

Thank you! :) This show is so wonderfully written, directed and edited. They're so commited to visual storytelling, that every single picture tells far more than just the dialogue, if there is any at all. My favourite example for this is the opening sequence of the first episode, where you can practically hear the whole dialogue in your head without the characters saying a single word. This is a gold mine for every attentive viewer. I'm sure if I would re-watch the season another 3 or 4 times (which I probably will), I would still discover new details and story elements.

my brother passed away from fentanyl overdose. i didn't really think about addiction untill now...and my mother (through all help of us in the family) is still homeless. These things, even if by self action, is still heartbreaking to see. thank you so much for the care above help!

I’m just gonna say it right off the bat, get it out of the way…. THIS SHOWWW🤩😭🌟 What a GEM, truly✨ It really does make me feel so grateful, with this one especially to know that the good people recommending these shows really want what’s best for us lol, and IT SHOWS!!!🎉 I for one looove when I haven’t seen something that gets recommended on here (which is most of the time actually😅) and I get the chance to experience all of that magic, that would’ve completely blown over my radar otherwise, right along with you guys! I don’t think there’s been a single show on here that hasn’t touched a certain part of my heart and soul yk? Animation is such a uniquely beautiful art form, it seems to me like our purest representation of how limitless and creative the imagination is. I bet in a show like Arcane especially it must feel so incredible to know that any idea you dream up can be executed so perfectly, better than you probably could’ve ever dreamed it with the insane team that puts this all together, and when it comes to a show like Arcane, it just leaves me floored every episode, safe to say I’m in love😭 I’ll spend the rest of my week AT THE VERY LEAST deciding which was my favourite shot from this episode. I’m leaning towards that one shot of Jinx facing away from us, walking up on the platform with her death machine, it went by pretty fast but the lighting and her silhouette just gave me frickin chills! I could see Jayce and Viktor going down a very similar path to Vi and Powder after watching this one! Jayce kicking Heimerdinger off of the council just didn’t sit right with me, I get it he wanted to shut everything they were working on down, but seeing how this show started and how the roles have kinda reversed with Jayce now having all the power and allies in the council, that was a bold move and it kinda worries me! What an incredible scene though, with the lights coming on individually as more and more councillors vote in favour, so painful to watch but in the same breath STUNNING! I don’t think Heimerdinger’s gonna let that shit go, no way! Viktor reconnecting with his (very possibly evil) old friend just spells disaster for me too, I hope Viktor doesn’t wind up in the same situation as that cute lizard creature, just wired up and barely alive:/ Similarly to Vi and Powder I imagine it’s probably not going to be either persons fault, but I could see them drifting apart due to differing opinions or Viktor not wanting his condition to cloud Jayce’s judgment anymore. Yeah they really wanted to rip our hearts out this episode with such a sweet reunion gone so wrong. So sweet in fact that I actually couldn’t believe it was real for the longest time and I was convinced they were playing us, until Jinx started crying and leaned more into the hug then it really hit me🥺 I need these sisters to be back together by the end of this show mate, for my own sake and I don’t know what I’m gonna do if it doesn’t go down that way honestly😂😭 Lastly dude, you’re the frickin best and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! Such a well deserving cause anywhere in the world, I will definitely be reloading this vid when it hits YouTube the entire night to watch more adds! A really good friend of mines mum, THE most awesome lady, spends most of her weeks now that she’s retired doing collections and donations to go towards blankets, sleeping bags, thick coats and pants, food etc. then goes out into the Greater Manchester area, with her group that she set up, with vans full of supplies, making sure as many of the homeless in those areas have what they need, especially this time of year as the UK is insanely cold at night these days. Work for me has been crazy as of late but I try my best to make time at least once a month to go out with them or at least get them donations. I mean just such an inspiring lady, who looks for nothing to gain from it but better quality of life for anyone in that situation. I don’t know how it is over your side of the pond but I see so much unnecessary hatred towards the homeless over here, not even just from the general public but the money the government and local councils spend on things like anti homeless architecture is so disgusting, it’s in those moments i’m less proud to be from here.

About Heimerdinger: I think even Mel was surprised by Jayce's indeed bold move, but went along with it. She always pushed Jayce towards the leadership of the council, so she can reign through him, but she didn't seem to expect such a rash move. In the end it served her interests and she started to really like Jayce, will say her emotions begin to influence her political decisions. My guess is, Heimerdinger will let this go, at least for now. Maybe it gets him back in touch with the real world, to be thrown out of his ivory tower. About the reunion of the sisters: Thinking of the last picture in the opening title, Jinx' mental state and Vi's total lack of knowing what happened to her sister in all these years, I wouldn't hang my hopes to high... :( As for now, Vi still thinks of Jinx as Powder, you saw her shock about her sisters behaviour at the fight. She's trying to save someone who doesn't exist anymore, at least not in the way she knew her.

Thanks so much for taking the time friend! I didn’t even really consider that aspect of Mel using Jayce to her advantage like that, but that makes total sense! I just hope Heimerdinger doesn’t go and try to destroy their Hextex project right away, since he really doesn’t have much to lose now it seems! Yeah, before this episode I didn’t have a shred of hope for those two being reunited, but seeing them embrace and even share some words (before they were so rudely interrupte) just opened me up to the possibility! I was expecting Jinx to be more “shoot first, ask questions later” when it came to seeing her sister again! Not that Vi and Powders relationship would ever go back to normal I guess, I just want Jinx especially out of that shitty situation she’s in, she’s better than that!

This show makes me so emotional that it's hard to even comment in any eloquent way...let me just say another amazing episode I loved it! If I find the mental fortitude to elaborate I will but for now I have to sit with these feelings a little bit first. 🥰

I’m going to read through all of them and reply back some of my thoughts too! - HOLD THE FREAKING PHONE (this is only your first note and I’m already so impressed/geeking out lol) HOW DID I NOT REALIZE THEY WERE SITTING IN THE SAME PLACE AS THE FLASHBACK!? I guess because it looked so different.. You’re absolutely right- what a beautiful testament to what Viktor has already managed to accomplish in his career. He’s been a tremendous advocate for the people who come from where he does. - Awwwww! I had no idea that was her! But you do hear someone yelling “Sky” in the background. That’s so sweet… and also so sad because, like you said, there seems to be no happy endings for anyone in this show lol! - I think Mel is developing real feelings for Jace as well. I think it’s still to her advantage politically to have him on the council but I think there’s more intimacy and vulnerability there now than before. - The Thieram/Chuck scene is one of my favorites in the show so far 🤣 - Oh, absolutely. Sevika knows all the right buttons to push to get to Jinx. - RIP VANDER I MISS HIM TOO. I did hear the echo and it touched me so much. It’s nice to know at least that Caitlin sees in Vi what Vander saw. - I was wondering if that was Vi’s mom… so sad 😭 - DUDE THE MOMENT WHEN VI AND CAITLIN ARE HOLDING EACH OTHER’S FACES IS SO SWEET!!! I think I was worried I was being queer-baited so I didn’t fully celebrate it but in the moment but omggggggg I swoon whenever I watch that scene now lol! - I was shocked that Cait decided to trade her gun as well. Maybe not the smartest move being in the Undercity but shows how much she cares about Vi AND about solving this mystery. - EEEEK I hope it is Ekko! I wanna see him again! And I also want to be right! 🤣

Oh god, me too. The song they picked for the soundtrack in that moment was so eerily beautiful as well. Perfect for the swell of emotion we were feeling 🥺 I think Vi sees that in her now, too. The way she’s calling “Powder” to her as she shoots happily at the Firelights… She doesn’t even recognize her sister anymore. I didn’t even think about Jinx’s mentality being in a state of dissociation. But I’m sure it is. A very good point. SHE IS STILL IN THERE, DAMN IT 😭 I just don’t know how we’re going to get her back at this point and even if we did… she’s done so much damage. Would she just portal away in a Hexgate somewhere for a fresh start? Jinx being behind bars for life wouldn’t be a very satisfying end to the series, but it’s certainly what her future would hold if she gets caught… and arguably what she deserves at this point…

- I agree that Ren will feel the consequences of Marcus’s actions the most… which is so awful - Heimerdinger’s pet (I forget his name- someone told me last week) is the CUTEST thing in this show. I love how reactive he is to Heimerdinger’s emotions as well - Loved hearing your thoughts about Heimerdinger getting voted off the council - Oh the ending scene is out of this world. It’s amazing how many emotions I felt with no dialogue involved! Just animated actions and a killer song choice. - The “are you real?” got me so good too dude 😭😭 - Enjoyed hearing your thoughts about the crows as well!

IC, I’m so sorry to hear about both your brother and mother. Doing this fundraiser feels like the absolute least I can do. I work two jobs- this and being a flight attendant, which leaves little time for volunteer work. But I always said when my schedule opens up a bit more I want to volunteer at a homeless shelter/recovery center. It’s nice to know I can do donations like this in the meantime.

Hahaha seriously though, may many blessings fall upon my subscribers ✨✨✨ because the level of joy and inspiration they’ve brought into my life through these shows is just insane. I’m so grateful, too 🥺 I feel the same way about animation as well- I genuinely believe it’s such a superior art form. Arcane has raised the bar for me on SO MANY levels when it comes to animated content. I hope the success of Arcane inspires more production houses/investors to take animation more seriously. The sky is genuinely the limit when it comes to this genre of story-telling. Ooh I wanna go back and look for that specific shot! I must have breezed by it the first time because I can’t recall the moment in my head. I worry about Jayce and Viktor’s relationship too. Jayce has really been there for him in terms of his illness, but I think they’re living two very different lives now. Viktor is so desperate for a cure (omg I hope he doesn’t end up like Rio either BECAUSE I WILL CRY lol) and Jayce is so caught up in the world of politics. I don’t blame either of them for making the decisions they have or going down the paths they did, but if you go back and look at the men we met in episode 2, these are now two drastically different people. Dude, Jinx asking “Are you real?” GUTTED me. I feel like we were all feeling that way too. And hearing it from Jinx, who was the most floored of us all, was so hard-hitting! Such a great little line 😭 Three words but it says so much. Jordan, when I tell you I will have a conniption fit on camera if Vi/Jinx don’t reach some sort of resolution lol. You think I was bawling at the end of episode 3?!?!?! Oh just you WAIT if the ending of this show ends up going there lol! Jordan 🥺 thank you, my friend. It’s really, truly the least I can do. I also make little goodie-bags to hand out at stoplights on my way home from work because there seems to always be someone there asking for help :( I put in all the left-over snacks we had from the plane and take the mini shampoos/soaps from the hotels I stay at on layovers. Your friend’s mom sounds amazing. I want to do more volunteer work like you and her when my schedule allows. YOU are the frickin best and don’t let anyone tell YOU otherwise! The situation is similar here. When I hear someone talk about the homeless population being “gross” or “scary” or “pathetic” I immediately know I don’t f*ck with that person. I think our government and more well-off citizens need to all take a healthy dose of empathy and a long walk in someone else’s shoes.

I know I spend most of my time yapping about Jinx 🤣, but I think you're both right about Mel. She's another character with way more depth than one might think on the surface. The animators of this series are so amazing at showing quite a lot with very subtle nuances of facial expression. That really showed in the second or two as Jayce laid his head down on Mel's lap when telling her how helpless he felt about Viktor dying. You could see in her face she was at a loss for how to react. Like someone who hasn't experienced any sort of real tenderness in ages suddenly getting a hug. Her immediate reaction seemed to be pulling back, but then a split second later it softened and she decided to test the waters. She's probably so used to everything being a pure political ploy with no true attachments that the idea of real emotional intimacy is foreign and pretty damn scary. It probably took a lot for her to open up to him, even the little bit that she did.

Didn't she say she was an exile from her family? That would fit perfectly to what you said about her reaction. She isn't used to openness and honest feelings. Maybe she was in her younger days, but being expelled from your family is a traumatic experience. She learned to hide her vulnerability behind her always perfect femme-fatale-look and her confident appearance. Now that she lifted the curtain a tiny bit, I'm beginning to like her. I would really like to know why she was banished, what standards she fell short to. For now I'm with Jayce, I can't imagine how that could be possible.

I can totally relate to that Elisa. Whenever I hear the word "Arcane", I hear three sentences ringing in my ears like the cymbals of Powders monkey: "I only wanted to help, I only wanted to help, I only wanted to help." "Please come back, Violet, I need you, please!!" "Are you real?" I think the second and the fourth episode are the only ones where I didn't cry at some point. 🙈

I honestly have to go back almost every time I write one of these to get rid of a few emoji’s or not use too many of the same one…. THEY JUST CONVEY ALL MY EMOTIONS TOO PERFECTLY😭🦕🤣 Awe man, this one’s gotta be my favourite though -&gt; “✨” - It’s just such a nice one but I use it waaaay too much😅 I couldn’t agree more, Arcane is easily one of the best shot shows I’ve ever seen and it’s not even close, AND IT WASN’T EVEN REALLY SHOT, the “camera” is just always put in the most perfect place, wether it’s to establish an area or show-not-tell what someone is thinking. I have such a deep appreciate for really well thought out cinematography but I find it so hard to express how shots actually make me feel in a meaningful way sometimes yk, it’s absolutely gorgeous in this show I’ll just say that!✨ Jinx freaking gut punches me with one of her line reads every damn episode it seems, but “are you real” has got to be the absolute icing on the cake😿 I can’t even imagine how the last couple of years have been for her, she seems to be in such a bad place mentally, which just makes that line hurt A MILLION TIMES HARDER💔 you will NOT be alone in your anguish if that’s how we’re ending this season mate, should we just stop now and imagine everything works out…. It can’t hurt me if I don’t see it😭 I’m still laughing at your “conniption fit” part while writing this because it’s TOO RELATABLE😂🤣😭 I’m definitely in a lucky position to be able to somewhat ride on the coattails of this passion project of hers and do as much as I can for the cause! I for one know you work your butt off making this channel so great because it absolutely shows in your videos, and I can imagine equal effort is put into your work in your other job too, the gesture and the act of love and compassion for your fellow human no matter how big or small is only a sign of a pure heart, and if you don’t have one mate I don’t know who the hell does!✨
