Hello my fellow dweebs, and welcome BACK to the Plaaaaayground :)

My sincerest apologies about the audio quality in this reaction. My laptop fan was working overtime playing this episode >.< I’ll try using my mic next week to mitigate the noise.

Anyways, thank you so much for being here AND FOR INTRODUCING ME TO THIS SHOW 😍 Episode 2 was just as epic as the first and I cannot even imagine how extraordinary the show gets from here! Please let me know your thoughts on this week’s episode in the comments down below :D

yoooohhoooo,we continue the masterpiece. You can feel how they manifest the tension in the series where you can feel it on your skin.but go ahead and make your predictions,we will see with the continuation of the series if they were correct or were wrong. But no matter which of the two,the only one who will be suffering will be you because of the urge to continue as the snowball that is the series keeps rolling down and getting bigger and bigger,grows. :D

Rich House

The audio really wasn't too bad, though I'm not much of an audio aficionado so might just be not that discerning. They definitely put some extra special care into Mels character design, which is saying something because all the characters look so good. So many great songs on the soundtrack but "Our love" playing at the end of this episode I think is really underrated. The animation details are really nice, I find myself strangely drawn to the quieter scenes such as Jayce and Caitlyn talking through the gate and the little details. Not as flashy as scenes such as the opening with Jayce and his Mother being saved but so much attention to detail is given still.

My willpower is so bad when it comes to great new shows. Me 1 week ago: "Oh cool! New show. Seems awesome. I'll watch it with Alycia over the coming weeks" Me 3 days later: "I just finished the show"

Masterpiece is the word for it, that's for sure! I appreciate that you don't mind me making predictions. I just can't help myself 🤣 And the urge to do a deep-dive on all things Arcane is scratching at my skin! I genuinely have no choice but to pace myself with my schedule but I have no doubt if I had watched this one on my own instead of on the channel I would already be done with it 🤣 I kind of like that I have episodes to look forward to every week though! Keeps the show fresh on my mind and makes me that much more excited for the next episode :D

I have been listening to "Our Love" basically on repeat since watching this episode! I agree that that particular song choice was perfection. Aaah this is why I love talking to you guys about the show because it makes me happy to know I'm not the only one that appreciates this stuff :D

I love hearing your take on the subtler scenes. Sometimes I noticed in the edit that I didn't when I originally watched is a moment where each member of the Kirammans are speaking and we don't see them but instead their perspective portraits in their family artwork. I thought that was sooo cool and moment that I didn

LOL! Genuinely Tim I do not blame you even one bit. I was just telling Mad that if I was watching this show lounging on my couch instead of for the channel, I absolutely would have already blazed through it 🤣 It's funny, you wouldn't think making something as simple as a reaction video would take it out of you, but by the time I watch 2 or 3 (especially because these are longer episodes), I'm spent! I try to spread out my filming days so that I can be super engaged each time I watch :) So excited to see where the show goes from here though. We're building up to something amazing, I can tell!

Yes, yes! I think this show has been a particular treat because all of the other shows I've watched on the channel have been 2D animation. Even with Invincible and One Punch Man, that have incredibly animated sequences, they still don't manage to capture (in my opinion, of course) quite the level of intricate detail that Arcane does.

Best examples so far: In episode 1 Vi telling Milo, "When you see this face it will always mean shut up." In episode 2 the look Powder gives Milo when she beats him at sharp shooting.

HOW FREAKING GOOD WAS THIS EPISODE?!! Omg I have soooo much to talk about with this one! Firstly I just adore the subtle world building they weave throughout the dialogue in this show, it’s so beautifully done! In that first scene with the excellently dressed Councillor Medarda, they mentioned how she’s the richest person in Piltover, to which she replies that she remains the poorest of her family name. The mention of different houses too gives it a real game of thrones feel. Even just her mention of trying to put Piltover on the map, it all suggests that there’s a much bigger world beyond this place that’s all working away in the background, real and alive! Those little bits for me help so much with immersion, especially in a dystopian setting because all of those differences from the way our regular world works is so interesting to me!! The magic in this world is really intriguing too, they talk about it almost like they fear it, like it’s some kind of higher power that they have no real control of. It seems a lil funny to me too that all of those people on the judge panel had never even considered creating magic artificially or with science before, especially “Dr Whonow?!”😂 (that will be his name in my mind the rest of the show lol) I think he said he was like 300 years old? He knows a good amount about magic, it sounds like he might’ve even witnessed the worst of it hands on. I feel like he definitely could’ve had a similar situation to Jayce in his past where he tried to create magic, maybe he ended up paying a heavy price for that? Either way he really didn’t seem to want Jayce to mention it at the trial or even do it for that matter! Real quick while I’m still talking about Jayce, I get that he’s really passionate about creating magic after what happened when he was a kid, but his mum was just trying to keep her son from being banished. That absolutely destroyed my heart for her when he left:c

I have to say I think I did Vi a little dirty in my review last week solely focusing on where she could improve as a leader. She has such a raw strength to her, be it physical or mental, she’s just so undeterred in her mission! Even in her first scene this episode though I could see that she really took Vander’s words to heart and is second guessing her own judgment when it comes to the team. Needless to say I owe her an apology, she’s a frickin awesome character lol!! Not only that but such a good sibling🥺 I loved the design of that room where they held Jayce’s trial, the way that whole glass ceiling got covered up leaving just that one spot light on him!!*chefs kiss*🤌 The visual highlight of this episode for me was Powder’s glow in the dark set up in the gangs hideout! That just looked SO good I was completely mesmerised for that entire sequence!🤩 Also I’ll be dammed if I don’t mention that little scene with Jayce and Caitlyn before I finish up here, just something about that was STUNNING to me with the choice of shots and the sound of the rain coming down and everything, man this showw✨😭 Lastly I just had to mention this, when you couldn’t remember the name of topside in your review, I totally couldn’t either and we both ended up saying “uptown” at the EXACT same time, really made me laugh😂 lastly lastly I LOVE that top mate! I think you wore it for one of your Rick and Morty reactions too right? Such a lovely colour and of course you’re rocking it🔥

Aaaah Jordan! See this is just another reason I’m so thankful for y’all! I get so caught up in the visuals and more emotional elements that I sometimes don’t catch the little hints in the dialogue until I go in to edit (and sometimes not even then, clearly, because your comment about Medarda and Piltover’s status is the first I’m hearing of this 🤣🤣🤣) And I was thinking the same thing about why they’ve never tried to create magic through science before- but it seems like Dr. WhoNow 🤣 is one of the only ones with enough smarts to do it. And if he’s in charge of the academy, he’s probably instilled in his pupils that this sort of experimenting is forbidden and conditioned them to believe that too? Maybe? Possibly? Hahaha it’s fun to speculate :) And UGH my heart was breaking during that scene too. This show is too good at pulling on your emotional heartstrings, I swear. Dude I would lay down my LIFE for Violet lmaooo I am so inspired by her as a character. And yes!!! The ceiling closing in was such a cool moment as well. Such a unique way to create that dramatic beam of light. Like goddamn Arcane staff, can y’all CHILL!? There’s no need to make every single frame in this show literally PERFECT! (I kid, of course). I feel like this is one of those shows that I could go back and watch a dozen times and find something new in it each time. Oh my gosh that’s so funny about the Uptown moment! I’m glad I wasn’t the only one confused lol And thank you so much :D I have worn that top on the channel before- I’m glad it’s a hit! I got it on sale at Target 🤣

Oh they cram a hell of a lot into these 40 minute episodes mate so I wouldn’t beat yourself up too much😂 I had heard something about different houses on my first viewing but I had to hit an instant rewatch after the reaction to get that information! I have a pretty shocking short term memory, especially in this case when (like you mentioned) every frame is hand crafted by people who have clearly evolved beyond needing sleep or rest of any kind😭 My only reference to Target is that vine where the guys like “t-t-t-TARGETTT”, and I saw Taylor swift go in there and buy her own album one time lol. Clearly they have a great fashion range though, it’s on the visiting America to-do-list for sure✨

Yeah I think some of that magic would die as soon as I actually went to one😂 I just imagine there’s no one thing you could ask for at this place and they don’t have it lol. It’s funny I feel like there is this real myth and legend type feel to places they have over the pond but not here, like 7/11 or In n Out. I feel like I’d be so excited to walk into one of those places because I’ve heard about them so many times yet haven’t had the chance to go, even though in reality some of those places are probably pretty standard and not exciting at all😂 I can’t imagine you have that same feeling unless you really want to try a Nandos I guess?🤣
