In terms of your discussion about a future fight with Belos, don't forget what happened in the final episodes of season 1. He is quite formidable on his own.

At the very start of the episode theres a book next to the portal - the page describes Grimwalkers... cant be a coincidence. Confession time: I was told to watch out for it!

I’ll wait until next week to share some of the theories I had from season 2A, because there’s some background stuff that really fueled the theories during the 8 month hiatus we had between 2x10 and 2x11. I will say, while they have the same type of accent, Philip and Belos do have different voice actors credited. Idk if you noticed but in the first 4 seconds of the episode there seems to be a pretty major hint about Hunter. I won’t say anything else if you don’t want to know about that though! In the first living room scene with Amity and Eda, Eda called Amity “Bossy Boots.” As for Mittens, I’ve always assumed it comes from the middle of her name, A-mit-y, and I’m sticking to that even if the show ever says anything else. Hmph. Yeah, I’m not usually one to notice animation changes—like I didn’t really notice it for the Grom dance fight or the Covention fight, and I only kinda noticed it in Agony of a Witch—but this one I could actually see the fluidity as soon as those like, lightning bolts started flying and the music changed. My favorite part visually was when Hunter was coming at Amity from above and she used her abomination goo as a shield. So fluid! Also, idk if you went back and looked at the first message Luz sent to Amity, but it said, “U R PRETTY”! Seething seas and puppet strings He no longer dreams

I remember when I first watched this episode and I saw that, I paused it so fast! I didn’t know what to make of the list of ingredients until another reactor I watch talked about what “ortet” means (I had assumed it was a Boiling Isles thing we just hadn’t seen yet, like the “stonesleeper” that’s also listed), and then it all made sense.

Not-Terribly-Hot-Take: Luz and Amity are the healthiest Disney couple. No qualifier.

As always -- love the reaction! Keep up the awesome work! One note on Belos and Hunter's relationship -- in an earlier episode (season 2, episode 6), Hunter refers to Belos as his "uncle," which would make Hunter Belos' nephew. So, assuming that is all true and above board (rather than figurative) this would make Hunter the son of Belos' sibling (whether a brother or sister of Belos wasn't made clear.) Also, I do like your Belos is Philip theory! Although the timing would require some magical (or time travel based) shenanigans -- what with Philip having entered the Boiling Isles back in the (probably mid?) 1600s, and humans don't normally live 400ish years. We'll have to wait and see if there's more information that might support this theory later on ... or if it gets usurped by some other theory down the line! Either way, it's fun to speculate!

Another fun episode. Hunter could be adopted and STILL be related if Belos was Philip's brother (or brother-in-law) and Hunter was Philip's son. Then calling him "Uncle" would still be apropos even though he had been adopted by him. I don't know that I agree with Amity giving up the key to protect Luz, since the Coven have always known where they were and are already a constant threat to the Owl House. Plus, wouldn't giving Belos the key just make him more of a threat to EVERYONE? If King turns out to be a descendant of the titan they might be able to get some titan blood from him if it comes down to it. Of course, we might have known that already if SOMEONE hadn't destroyed that letter to King! Have a great week!

You're almost to S2b, I'm very excited, these episodes were good, but the ones to come are on another level. Even in some episodes they already removed the intro, because of everything that was happening, enjoy the intro because few of the following episodes have it. The season finale was so epic 🤩

By the way, at the beginning of the episode you see a book with a word: "grimwalker" you also see red eyes, and a baby? what does it mean? 🧐

I am soooo excited to find out the truth behind all of this! This story has such good story building

My feelings towards it are so complicated because even though I understand why Amity did it, I agree that it’s really bad for the fight against Belos overall 😅 I really like your theory about King’s dad being a Titan descendant though. That would be very convenient lol! And freaking Hooty 🤣 love that silly goose but yeah I’m really mad he ate that letter!

Good points! I always saw Amity surrendering the key to Hunter as a best-of-a-bad-situation option. While Belos and company have always known where Eda and Luz are based (and where the Blights live) dealing with these insurgents isn't exactly a top priority for the Emperor. Oh, sure, it's on the list ... but it probably doesn't make it to the top ten. What is in the "top ten" of his personal list (and maybe even number one) when this episode takes place is acquiring a key to open the portal door. Up until Hunter spotted the portal key around Amity's neck, Belos clearly didn't know that key existed. Perhaps he thought it lost or destroyed. Regardless, he was spending a lot of time, energy, and resources on making a new key rather than getting the old one into his hands. Hunter's threat of "we know where you live" seems to also imply, "and now we know that you have something so important that the Emperor would be willing to drop everything and launch a full scale assault of your homes to get it." Now Eda, Luz, Amity and friends are strong -- strong enough to stop a full scale assault by all the Coven Heads, the Coven Scouts, Belos' new Abomination Army, and Belos himself? I strongly doubt it. So the situation became, give up the key then. Or wait for Belos to steamroll them all and take it. Given this, Amity's decision to crack the key and retrieve some of the Titan's Blood from it is something that I see as taking a lose-lose situation and eeking out the closest thing to a win she could. After all, once Hunter knew that the Owl House crew had the key there were very few options left. Killing or imprisoning Hunter would only have kicked the Owl House rebels up the Emperor's "to-do" list so he'd come there with overwhelming force sooner rather than later, likewise allowing Hunter to get word to Belos that the Owl House folks had the Portal Key would do the same. Giving up the key, while not a good option, was the best of the available bad options.
