This is an interesting episode ... Vegemites can be beaten to a pulp but still not die. Doesn't seem to bode well for Earth.

DarkAshtar

As far as the mummy goes, he was sealed back in the tomb when that stone door felt down. Small easter egg, the school Mark attends is known as Reginald Vel Johnson high school, who is most well known for having played Carl Winslow on Family Matters, and the principal is named Principal Winslow and naturally voiced by Reginald Vel Johnson. He was also in Die Hard, and most times I've ever seen him in anything he plays a cop.

DarkAshtar

Also, Battle Beast is a monster, he's the lionlike guy, I don't consider it a spoiler as his name is in CC and credits, also cool to know he's voiced Michael Dorn, whom some will know better as Warf from Star Trek: TNG

DarkAshtar

I looked it up, I also patreon Gallifrey Gals and one of their shows is TNG so it sounded relatively recently familiar lol

I was expecting a mini burp appearence with that long silence lolz.

Supposedly, the second season will premiere in late July 2022. Seth Rogan, who is an executive producer on the show, is also producing a live-action version of Invincible for the big screen with its creator Robert Kirkman's Skybound Entertainment. It will be interesting to see how working so closely with two different versions of the same property will turn out. Of course, Rogan has gotten very passionate about bringing some of his favorite properties to the masses lately. Preacher, The Boys, and Invincible are all comics he worked hard to get produced because he knew they would get more appreciation in the television medium. This is definitely my favorite episode, so far. Because we are already invested in the characters it feels like we just watched a whole movie sequel's worth of plot without needing any extra preamble. There is so much story packed in such a small time that by the moment you get to the face-off you almost forget how many things have already happened in the episode. I'm sure you probably noticed that when you had to edit it. -Lol

DarkAshtar

Figured I'd also let you know, I waited to play my pre-ordered new game, Metroid Dread, until after I watched your upload of Invincible this week.

So, I'm guessing nobody knew that the principle and the scientist were voiced by Reginald VelJohnson. Carl Winslow from Family Matters, and Sgt. Powell from Die Hard. lol (Keep forgetting Al bootlegs her stuff so she doesn't see the Amazon X-Ray (don't know if that's what it's called) ) But I'm also wondering if you all were surprised at the guest voices in Ep.6

didn't see this before I made my comment. Losing my touch...lol

Kind of wondering how they're going to handle the villain I think they might have in mind for season 2.

DarkAshtar

LoL, I grew up watching Family Matters and the whole TGIF line up lol. I still remember Family Matters started off as a spin off of Perfect Strangers as Laura Winslow was the elevator operator in Larry's office... If only my brain were wired to remember any important lmao

⭐🦋 I caught the GG from time to time for Who episodes, but kind of dropped off when they got to the seasons I didn't care much for. I've been watching more of them lately since they started reacting to Gravity Falls. Maybe we can get them to react to Star vtfoe.

DarkAshtar

They are in a great season with Peter Capaldi. I mainly joined for Rick and Morty and STTNG lol

Kelly Parks

His cellphone works from orbit? I know there's way more unlikely things in that scene but that really bothers me.

The season isn't over yet. A lot can still happen with a show like this...heck, even in a single episode.

Anonymous

Cell phones work from orbit today, like at the International Space Station. It's so that we can stay in communication with the aliens living on the moon (the ones that create the chemtrails). I thought everybody knew that.

alyciadweeb

Ooooh good point on the mummy, Dark. I guess that would have taken care of it 🤣

alyciadweeb

🤣 Honestly it was anyone's guess 🤣 definitely could have been gearing up for a mini burp there

alyciadweeb

Seth Rogan is such a freakin badass! Okay fun LA fact, he filmed a scene for his new show Pam and Tommy right outside my apartment and as they were preparing for the scene I was bringing some laundry inside and found him in our back alley smoking a fat doobie 🤣 Wish I could have gotten a picture but I didn't want to bother him. ANYWAYS INVINCIBLE! I agree 100% with everything you said about this episode and it's definitely my favorite so far too. I can't believe we only have 3 left!!!!!!!!!!!!

alyciadweeb

Kelly, that went over my head completely but you are absolutely right lol. Suspension of disbelief can only go so far I suppose

DarkAshtar

Well, I think the game gets the last laugh cause it's kicking my ass lol

I love moments like that! The day before I was going to a test screening for "Knocked Up" he came into my work and I greeted him by name. He was surprised because it wasn't until after that movie was released that people started recognizing him as Seth Rogan, instead "that one guy from that thing". After the screening, he was out in the lobby and recognized me and we started talking about the movie. He was a really chill guy.

alyciadweeb

Omg WHAT!? Okay that is a way cooler Seth Rogan story than mine lol! That's awesome!

I don't know. I think alone in a casual moment like that is pretty darn cool. Whenever it's like that I always do what you did and just let them have their space, but still... That's the thing about being out here; so many awesome interactions with people that I admire. Every time I think about moving back east I look back on hundreds of once-in-a-lifetime moments (what an oxymoronic contradiction -lol ) that I never would have experienced if I had simply left earlier and then I get hesitant about what I might be missing out on if I go. I get so conflicted. I'm kind of going through that right now. It looks like my time with Funko is probably coming to an end as a consequence of the pandemic and I am at a real crossroads. Without getting into the personal ramifications, it really makes a person want to pack up and head back home with their tail between their legs. Sorry, I may have gone off on a tangent from my initial comment. My fingers just kept travelling as my mind kept thinking. I'm going to shut up now -Lol

alyciadweeb

Oh my gosh please don't apologize! I'm just so sorry you're going through this. I know you've been with Funko for a long time so it must be devastating to lose your job there due to no fault of your own. I went through the same thing with American last year so I can sympathize. I ended up needing to go home too and everything... Just try to remember it's not your fault and that you WILL find something else, even if there are a few unwanted pitstops along the way. I'm sending you all my dweeby energy for a wonderful new chapter <3

Thank you, Alycia. I truly appreciate that. It honestly has been a very trying time lately and that really helps more than you know. Cheers!
