Hey Alycia, you came up with the idea for your own fanfic: Starco Does Stuff on Mewni. I'll be anxiously awaiting your first chapter...

I straight up want a spin- off of this show called “Starco” and it will literally be just that 😭💕

You know... I think these two episodes, more than ANY of the other's were the ones I was waiting to see your reaction for. It was so damn hard to not spill the beans about Star and Marco getting together over all these months and months of watching this amazing show with you. All the subtle looks, all the moments where Star and Marco acted like a couple in everything but name only. It all led up to this. I think when I really think about it, I can confidently say that Starco is my favorite pairing in animation. They have an effortless intimacy that is just so endearing and genuine. Sure, they both made mistakes along the way... But that was all part of their journey. This show, like life, is messy and not a neatly contained journey from start to finish. Star and Marco make mistakes like real humans. They choose the wrong people for what might seem to be the right reasons at the time and even in their failings, they seem to grow closer together as friends and eventual lovers. I absolutely adore how human Daron tried to make Star and Marco and it shines through so well during the series. It speaks well to her skill as a creator and the writing staff of the show that they were able to take a goofy, episodic fish out of water story about a magical princess and craft a compelling series that touches on extremely grown up topics. Things like systemic racism, Sanding up for your principles despite overwhelming pressure to conform, and finding your own path in life when what you thought was your future is no longer the case. So bravo, Daron, bravo!

Despite my frustration with the way this season has gone, I think it's still (now tied as) my favorite show (the other being Stargirl, no relation to Star vs The Forces of Evil). I was so gratified that Starco finally happened, that I've watched Alycia's reaction somewhere around half a dozen times now. I've watched the other reactors, and read the comments to Alycia's and the other reactors' videos, and I have to say I'm really puzzled by all the statements that Starco was forced, that it came out of nowhere, with no buildup at all. Were these folks watching the same show? They've been setting up Starco since season one, if not episode one...
