WOAH. “Skooled!” was… something. I mean… holy s***… Meteora’s back, and more powerful than ever… and Ponyhead! What did she do to her?! She’d better be OK. The amazing thing about Ponyhead is that she could SO easily have be annoying, yet they somehow always manage to make her hilarious. I think a lot of that is Jenny Slate’s voice acting. She’s so good! It was cool learning more about Meteora’s past. It actually reminds me of Killmonger from Black Panther – A royal heir who was the victim of a prejudice, and is now looking to reclaim their throne. And her name was a result of her own father calling her “heinous”… That’s… really sad. Not to mention, being raised by a robot… What would that do to someone…? Poor Gemini and Rasticore… Rasticore just fully came back, only to be destroyed again (though she did at least keep his arm, so he can come back again). And Gemini… I hope he can be reactivated somehow. I liked him. His last line was really sad… When this episode started, I was expecting a fun episode of Ponyhead partying with the other Princesses. To quote Ron Burgundy – That escalated quickly… BTW, when you said those robots reminded you of someone from Kim Possible, I’m guessing you meant Dr. Dementor, because, now that you mention it, I can totally see that, lol. “Booth Buddies” was cute, and had some really important moments between Star & Marco. Especially, you know… the kiss. They’re both starting to realize that they have feelings for each other now. I liked that they addressed how awkward Marco’s been feeling since Star admitted she had a crush on him. I imagine I would feel the same way. Unfortunately, there’s a huge crisis going on right now, so their feelings may have to wait. Favourite Quotes: “WHAT?! I GOTTA TAKE A WAFFLE TEST?!” – Ponyhead “This is, like, a year’s worth of pizza! There’s no way she’s getting through this!” – Princess “You know that old rhyme, dear – “Boys do not make passes at girls with devil tails”.” – St. Olga “HEY! This school has become SO dear to me since I got here 10 minutes ago, and I did not come here to watch you destroy it!” – Ponyhead *Meteora growls* “Ooh, y’know wha’, you are clearly goin’ through something, so actually, I’m just going to circle back later. WOW.” – Ponyhead “Star! I’m not made of money!” – Marco “Yes, y’are.” – Star “I asked for best friend photos, but these are business acquaintance photos.” – Star “I was caught off-guard by it, and then, like a Marco, I never brought it up again.” – Marco Rasticore’s “breaking up” speech to Ms. Heinous was hilarious too, but… yeah, it’s way too long for me to write here, lol.

Skooled is probably my favorite Pony Head-centric episode so far. She's gold in very small doses, but I find she wears out her welcome quickly in my mind. This was the perfect amount of exposure for her and the fact that she got her butt royally kicked by Meteora was fantastic. On a more serious note, however, I have to say that this was a pretty deep episode, princess fluff notwithstanding. I loved the new light they cast Meteora in to make her a much more sympathetic villain for the audience. When the show can make you feel bad for someone so... "heinous," you know the writers are doing a good job. It humanizes the villain and brings them out of the two dimensional world of caricature and fleshes them out in a way to make them seem more human. Something we can all relate to... Another point I might want to bring up in regards to your lines about "rising up" instead of embracing hate and revenge. It seems, from what we see in the show that Meteora had literally zero support system when she was young. She was stuck in an awful situation with no choice but to become who she is due to having no role models or support to guide her and show her that there's a better way than vengeance. IT make her story all the more sad because it' basically a question of when not if she would turn into the monster she is now. And Booth Buddies... Where to even start. It was adorable and sweet and funny in all the ways it needs to be. Finally hearing Marco confess that he was feeling something much more than mere friendship to Star in not so many words was an almost cathartic experience, having given a couple awkward confessions in my own past I could perfectly insert my own awkward, fumbling attempts to explain deep seated feelings and it made for a bittersweet remembrance. Star also has so many good lines, a lot of which have been cited by other commentators, but I will say her reaction is adorable. If you look closely in the scene where they kiss you'll notice she leans forward as well. A quick google search for "Booth Buddies Kiss Mutual" will show her head coming forward even farther than Marcos, so despite her rather feeble exclamations of "having a boyfriend" which of course was not even the FIRST thing she mentioned after the kiss, you can tell its something she wants as well. Finally, watching her snatch the kiss photo before going was just icing for my Starco loving heart! Bravo Marco, Bravo!
