Oh, man… what an episode. It’s always interesting seeing the racial relations between the Mewmans and the monsters. The efforts Star makes to bring the two groups together are really fun and endearing to watch, but I like that it shows it’s not that simple to erase past wrongs. It’s going to be a long process. It can’t just be resolved in one episode, lol. Oh, and speaking of which… Mina. I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion, but… I find her kind of annoying. I won’t say I hate the character, but I usually find that she comes very close to overstaying her welcome whenever she appears (though not QUITE). That’s just my opinion, though. I will say, I DO find her voice really funny. XD And yeah, the revelation with Ms. Heinous… or, rather… Meteora. That was… holy ****. Her being related to Star (AND the daughter of Eclipsa) opens up so many possibilities for where the story could go, and makes her a far more dangerous enemy. Lol, I remember when I thought she wasn’t going to be as big a villain as Toffee. Boy was I wrong. I am curious to find out what exactly happened to her. I like your theory about the High Commission wanting to… suppress her monster side by turning her into Ms. Heinous. Star definitely needs to have a little talk with Eclipsa now. Favourite Quotes: “Pony, you’re the best!” – Star “Oooh, did ya hear that? The BEST. Me.” – Ponyhead “Just gonna stop you there, Marco. I’m not into politics.” – Tom “But… you’re a Prince. Everything you do is politics.” – Marco *Party guests start arguing* “Hey, girl! I don’t know what you did, but this party just got way more interesting!” – Ponyhead “Princesses… Pat, pat.” – Marco “So… are we still fighting or…?” – Marco “Read the room, Marco.” – Star “Star! Look… I know I did something wrong, and I’m… still not sure what… but I want to apologize.” – Tom “It was a great party! I mean, yeah, sure, some monsters got trapped in a closet… and Mina probably traumatized some people… and we got busted by the cops, and I… am not… helping… at all… right now.” – Tom

"They're probably off cuddlin' somewhere. Which is what you and I should be doing, don't you think?" -- Tom "Ewwwwwwwwww." -- Marco, articulating what all us Starco shippers were thinking.

This episode has a LOT to unpack for sure. For starters it is a fantastic episode if you're a lore hound like me. We get to see the origin of Miss Heinous and her younger years. We get to learn waht Mina has been up to for like a whole season (hiding out and reading romance novels apparently), and we get a great look at the past for what the monster temple was likely used for before it was abandoned. There will be a ton coming on that front later, but for now it was a great toe in the water to get everyone's appetite whetted. Personally, I love the character development we get in this episode. Once more on display is Tom and Star's lack of real chemistry as a couple as Tom completely misses the mark on understanding why Star can't just spend the night canoodling with him in a dark corner. He is adorably goofy in trying ot make up or it, but the disconnect is blindingly obvious. neither is Star innocent, as she was so wrapped up in her own stuff she didn't even notice Tom was there the whole time. But guess who she didn't forget about? That's right! Mah boy Marco, who was adorable as her helper during all this crisis and the part with Roy and the Goblin Dog Truck cracked me up. I had completely forgotten that little scene. Overall, a fantastic episode, that drove the plot forward very nicely, and gave us a ton of insights into mewman-monster relations, the origins of Meteora, and we even got another dose of Mina Loveberry being as zany as she was in season 2!
