I love this episode and how Ludo develops as a character over this season!

Star vs Echo Creek felt really bizarre and random, lol. It was funny and entertaining, but it got really hard to follow (which I think was the point). It went from Star wrecking a car, to being on the run, to settling in a ditch, to meeting a weird old lady who… collects hair (???)… to an imaginary, singing, mustachioed Mushu (I really enjoyed him, BTW – like you said, it’s really cool that the show is writing original songs now). So, yeah… really weird, but entertaining. BTW, you totally nailed the Elf comparison. As soon as you said it, I was like “YES!” Wand to Wand was obviously much more relevant to the overall story. I’m really liking these Ludo-centered episodes. It’s cool to see him grow and become more powerful. I’m actually kind of rooting for him at the moment, even though I know I shouldn’t… I’m glad the hawk and spider are sticking around. They have a lot of personality for silent characters, and something about the animation on them cracks me up! That’s a good observation, about Star & Ludo’s wands being powered by love & hate respectively. I wonder whether that’s related to the wands themselves, or whoever happens to be wielding them? Favourite quotes: “Food is anarchy, dude. Live by your own rules!” – Star “I thought rainbows were made of light!” - Marco “My rainbows are made of stuff, OK?!” – Star “Uh-oh. Looks like someone’s allergic to good vibes.” – Cloudy “RUN.” - Ludo

I honestly never gave much thought to the fact that the spider and the hawk have never spoken! I mean now that I think about it, it’s obvious that they haven’t but you’re right- they have so much personality!!! The writers and animators did such a great job making them into staple characters without giving them lines. Very cool.
