Sumata Café

I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, I'm kinda burned out of Sumata Café, been doing it for three years, I did spoke about this on Discord but I think it's better if I write it here in a more official capacity.

It's not like I don't enjoy drawing outercourse lewds anymore, far from it, I guess I have too many ideas of other things I'd rather be doing. Drawing other people's characters is fun but fairly limiting. 

It doesn't help I'm quite particular about how I depict other people's work so I try my best to gather as much reference as I can, both from concept art, artbooks, screenshots. Then watching/playing through the game/show again to really douse myself in that character's personality and then somehow making them fit into the femdom/outercourse formula of Sumata Café. I've learned a lot from copying other's styles: anatomy, coloring, character design, facial expressions.

Sumata Café could very much go on forever, if the character-suggestions channel on Discord is any indication there are hundreds upon hundreds of popular characters for me to lewd. In order to prevent myself from going on forever I considered the first 4 girls to be the "whole game" and everything else to be "DLC ala Smash Bros", so should I ever get burned out I could simply stop.

I thought of rushing through the remaining scenes but I can't really get the creative juices going for them so I think the best thing I can do is shelve the project, maybe return to it later if inspiration finds me again.

For dem Setena Stans

Some of you have been requesting to see more of Setena for well... years now. I originally planned her to be the last scene of Sumata Café and since then my mind has been going overdrive with potential scenarios involving her, so much so I began conceptualizing characters around her I could fit a whole ass game.

Those that follow me on twitter have probably noticed an increase in OC content involving these characters.

I'm mostly experimenting, I think it'd be really cool to make a VN/DatingSim with these characters, since I'm the one that designed them I don't need to stick to anyone else's lore or artstyle.

In fact I've been prototyping some stuff for it:

But I've also been making stand-alone CGs and even some fappy game involving the story's antagonist Jedyne.

I'm not sure exactly what I want to do, a VN/DatingSim with Setena and co. is something I've been meaning to try for a long time now but it is a big investment of a project and I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm scared of starting something big and then letting you down.

I've been saying this a lot but lewd drawing is something I can only do in my free time, most of my day is spent making an indie game called Genokids, which means lots and lots of overtime, I can only allocate a day a week and whatever couple hours I have during the week to work on other projects like this one. 

I really enjoy drawing pervy stuff, it's a passion of mine, which is why I'm gonna keep doing it, but just to make sure we're all in the same page here.

I could try pitching you guys my idea for this project in another update if you're into it so far!

I know it's a bit of a messy update, I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do myself, I can only guarantee that there'll be more lewd leggy content coming up in whichever format I decide to go!
