Someone asked me about the concept behind this picture and how magic works in Raruurien. Who is Rien? Is she a druid, a shaman, or is she guiding spirits?

She is collecting ruh here (spirits). Ruh is what magic made of. Mages are someone who communicates with ruh. They give commands to them to make the magic happens. Ruh also categorized based on their elemental. Each person has their own innate ability to communicate to certain elemental ruh only. There are cases where a person can communicate with different kinds of ruh but it's very rare.

The shapes of ruh are varying. I will mostly use shapes of bugs (inspired by Mushishi)
