Raruurien Funds and Expenses (Nov-Dec 2017) (Patreon)

Hi all! Thank you for your patronage. On the table above you can see the fund collected for the second period of Raruurien patreon campaign. You can see the first one here. 

The Human Footprint: Challenges for Wilderness and Biodiversity
This is literally the heaviest book I have (5kg). This 320 pages book is filled with nature, roads, ruins photos (full/spread pages) with description page in every several photos. Those are high quality photos with good composition and colors. Really love this book.

The Concise Encyclopedia of Garden Plants
This 436 pages book is filled with over 1600 photos and descriptions of more than 2000 plant species. The photos are in average quality but they are enough to complement the description.

Exploring Your World: The Adventure of Geography
This 608 pages book is filled with geography from A to Z. Really good book for world building. I'd open this book first when looking for new environment for my comic before jumping to other book for specific background references.

Ancient Empires
This is a book that presents a panoramic sweep of 3000 years of history. It filled with ancient kings, warriors, codes and artifacts. I will use this book as reference for building civilization concept in my world building. 

Golden Letters: Writing Traditions of Indonesia
This book records writing history and manuscripts in Indonesia. It has Arabic script, Recong script (Malay), Makassarese script, Javanese script, etc. The manuscript mostly about ancient kingdom history in Indonesia, some royal letters from foreign kings/sultan, myth, divination and calendar. There's is a quite big hole in the upper right corner of some pages inside (because it's second hand book). But it's not a problem since the text is in both English and Bahasa so if the English text is damaged, I can always read the Bahasa version.

That's all about our new reference books. Sorry for blabbing too much about it. I just thought that I'll need a lot of real life reference as the base of the Raruurien world building to make the comic makes more sense and original. I have a lot of smart readers after all xD I need to study more to catch up.

As you can see on the table above, I added Deviantart subscription fee. I mentioned on previous report that I need it for marketing purpose. I want increase Raruurien readership by initiating Raruurien marketing plan over there.

I'll also add Photoshop subscription fee reqularly as part of required tools for coloring the comic. I might add more tools to expenses in the future.

Future expenses: 

• I want to make some Raruurien merchandises! I thought about pillow plushies, pouches or enamel pins. For that, I need to experiment with several materials and vendor to make prototypes.
• Signing up as a patron of other artist. I have some senior artists in mind whom I'd like to study from. I haven't done it yet xD Let me know if you have great artists in mind for me to follow.
• Mentorship program. I'm planning to open a mentorship tier in patreon. I got offer to start teaching comic and illustration class in early April, so I thought: why don't I take an online student too?

You are probably wondering why did I make this report. I just want to be transparent about where the fund goes and I want to make sure to spend it mostly for the development of Raruurien webcomic project.
