⏹️✔️ Libby & Holly Ch3 Start

August had a little bit of a slow start because of some lingering freelance work that was bogging me down some. At the beginning of the month I didn’t have much to show but drawings of showgirls.

I’m always listening to a lot of Broadway musicals (to my partner’s chagrin 😈) and I was in a Chicago phase again.

This simple style is really fun to me. I like trying to simplify features and when you make a face more cartoony, suddenly having dramatically different head shapes feels like a natural bit of stylization. And I think that's pretty fun. 

✅ Libby & Holly Chapter 2 got a release around the middle of the month once I met a freelance deadline, got organized and finished the cover

I was also happy to be able to make some alternate pinups this time based on the cover this time! You'll notice this Holly is from the preliminary cover sketch layout above I didn't quite stick to.

I wasn’t sure how this release would go because there’s been so much upheaval on twitter which is where I normally try to promote the most, but it all seemed to go just about as well as Libby Ch1, so maybe I was worrying about nothing.

All the same, I'm on other social platforms now too. I hate having multiple accounts, but Bluesky and Cohost are both pleasant. I might do a poll to see where most of you like spending your time to see where it's really most worthwhile for me to share to the people that matter to me the most-- you all ❤️

Here's a big ol' stack of unfolded/trimmed books. The other thing that worked out better this time round was being able to do a physical release the same weekend as the digital release. Every time I get a little bit more efficient and run into fewer problems in this process, I’m happy to say!

I even added some new physical postcard prints to include with orders so I can keep those fresh for folks buying physical stuff again. Thank you to everyone that picked up a physical copy!!❤️

As per usual, I’m de stress by drawing silly things in my sketching time.  Some elves started showing up especially once I had more time to play TotK once Libby was out.

I keep playing with that crispy sharp brush. It reminds me a little bit of using a micron the more I play with it.

It’s made me very attentive toward broken lines in my art and how you can create the impression of softness by strategically placing those gaps. I put it through its paces by making some…

✅ ...Fanart Art! Mostly of TotK but I’m going to do some more Greek stuff too since that landed high in the polls.

I think I drew everyone either enjoying a breeze or being slightly sweaty outside or taking a bath because I drew these during a heatwave.

In a way I’ve been indulging the Greek stuff with some of the Zelda art anyways. Link’s outfit is pretty Greco-Roman. Especially with the sandals.

✅The CYOA Pt.8 Update came shortly after I got a little TotK out of my system. I took this as an opportunity to just draw some fun action. Tits out, of course.

The Goblin Sneak was a placed second in the original character choosing poll, so it seemed like a safe option to bring her back. Thank you all for saving her life hehe💖

I think they make a rather dashing pair and I had fun drawing them together. I don’t know exactly how I’m going to handle having two party members, but I have some ideas to keep things interesting… 😈

⏹️ Getting started onLibby & Holly Ch3 looks like a miss, just because I’m still in the writing stage, not the drawings stage so I have nothing to visually show for it. Rest assured it’s in progress! 😌 I’m planning on showing thumbnails/roughs by the end of the week if all goes well!

⏹️ CYOA Pt. 9

For this month I’m keeping things simple to avoid too much distraction. Pages 1-6 is maybe an arbitrary target but basically I just want to establish momentum on Libby & Holly again. Otherwise I hope we can just have fun making some one-offs with fanart and keep the CYOA going strong.
