✅ July started off with tackling the CYOA.

This was the most neglected aspect of June, because I wanted to get that right. I gave a little bit more time and illustrations to it than in some previous updates because I just wanted to speed things along.

This one’s really just all action, which I wish wasn’t the case, but I couldn’t find a way to make any sensuous moments in this daring escape.

I am pleased with this panel of the “mystery thief”, I really just wanted to draw sound ripples in a blue color field. 💙

Thank you all for participating in the voting for this! I’m happy to have an excuse to introduce another character into the mix!

✅ More Fanart

More fanart was technically made, but it was less than I hoped for. I made the decision to prioritize Libby & Holly and that meant only some Queen Sonias.

There’s also some Links that made it into the sketchbook that gold patrons get to see. I’ve been drawing him a little slimmer, less bulky than in my past comics and I’m kinda digging the look.

My sketchbook was partially daydreaming about future projects, partially playing with simple cartoony styles like usual. My buddy and collaborator HavocTurbo have been passing some brushes back and forth which caused a lot of my experiments.

For those of you who are curious: We figured out who the original brush creator was, it's in this CSP brushpack.

I don't know if anything will come out of these particular drawings but it's been fun to think about. :)

✔️⏹️✔️ Complete Libby & Holly Ch2 + Cover

Libby & Holly took most of my attention for the last part of the month. I’m giving myself two missed checkmarks because while I didn’t complete the cover art, I also added five pages I didn’t plan on including!

I picked things up with page 22 at the beginning of July and realized the ending would just be so unsatisfying if I didn’t at least tease out the fun of the next chapter.

As usual, I started with a page of scribbled thumbnails in pencil and then went digital for the roughs.

I’ve started trying to put in my dialog earlier and earlier so that I can better plan for speech bubbles, which historically has always been a challenge.

I think things went smoothly as a result and I’m excited to try this more in Chapter 3.

This month’s agenda is going to be light so I won’t promise a ton of complete Chapter 3 pages until Chapter 2 is completely released, but I've already made some progress on that.

I made a test print to see how things were looking and I'm making some progress on the cover art LOL. Jk, I promise it will be better than this.⤵️

Hello InDesign, my old friend....

Historically finishing one chapter and starting another can take a little time for me to figure out. I want to have fun just drawing random things a little more this month, and explore the themes I haven’t gotten to yet from the last poll before I make another.
That said, I do think I’ll have some things to vote on this month besides the CYOA.

I want to start collaborating more with other artists, and I’d like to put forth some potential projects to maybe have you vote on??

I know youl haven’t become patrons to see someone else’s work, but I like to think that if you trust my taste, then you’ll probably enjoy some of the collaborative creative endeavors that excite me too.

Thank you all for helping me finish Chapter 2 with both your support and encouragement. I’m really proud of the work we’ve done together. I don’t think I’d have developed nearly as much as a comic artist without your help. 💗
