To take my mind off things I let myself work on this witch a little bit more :) Not quite a sapphic tentacle couple but I think she's doing preliminary research for friends.

Art Talk: For all the problems I have with printing 😅 I do really enjoy what printing does to art. Sometimes colors kinda die when they're printed and other times they feel more vibrant. Mostly I am always admiring the kind of burnished, darkened quality halo that happens at the borders of color fields in old lithograph prints.

I went through some effort to figure out how I could make this happen on the Fitting for a Lady cover and since then I've been trying to add it in other places just to see how it feels, like on the individual tones in this illustration, you can especially see it at the shadow edge by her knees.

Hope you're having a good Monday!

I love the spider in the overturned flower pot *chef's kiss*

I really enjoy the light you have trailing from her fingertips as she draws the runes, and also how that plant in the background looks kind of sexual...

Honestly one of the biggest upsides to drawing witches is from a lighting perspective like this! I usually can't use spooky lighting!

Hehe that was a gut decision, I was gonna draw more plants and then I thought wait, I can be spooky 😌

When I was a kid I saw this illustration of a wizard for an old PC game or magazine cover or something with light shooting out of his fingernails and I always thought it was really cool even tho the wizard was kinda gross looking. I can't remember at all what it was or how to find it but it's been very influential on me I guess.😂
