Happy Halloween, everyone! I made some witches, for you. 🎃

It started with just the one on the left and then just kinda cascaded. Gonna share a timelapse for gold patrons in this month's Gold patron dropbox download so you can see how much I change my mind, hehe.

I've got thumbnails for a bunch of pages of Libby and I'm working on roughs directly after this so I'll be able to share some progress within a few days on that front. :)

For a little behind the scenes, that first drawing started as me keeping this nightie sewing pattern illustration on my desktop for the past two months. I just couldn't get it out of my head and when that happens I like to do a "study," borrow my favorite bits and see if that helps me understand what makes it tick.

I particularly love the long "nighttime" shadows from the bridge of the nose that the illustrator put over the face and the way the face emerges as a few marks from a mostly flat fleshtone. I don't plan a lot of shading or coloring in the upcoming Libby comic and I'm really attracted to how much you can get out of just an extra tone here or there like this has.

I had a prof in school that described low angle lighting like this as being lit "from the grave" which feels apt for today.

💖 Thank you all for your wonderful support this month. I'm excited to have more to show you in the coming weeks!
