Ivy & Pine Cover Sketches (Patreon)

It's been a hell of week folks, I'm exhausted from my sfw freelance stuff, but I did get to take some time to explore some Ivy & Pine covers. I'm going to try to timelapse the whole cover art process this time. So this is just the sketching timelapse. You can see me try things, abandon them quickly, and generally struggle. 

That's just the process with these but I feel pretty good about the cover on the right. It gives me some opportunities for fun graphic painterly shapes at the top and bottom, has ample room for text and kinda shows the main thrust of the story as being about this water bottle. :)

I think it's fun to embrace the cover as something that is tonal but not exactly representative of the story. Like there's this silly conceit that after the players are done performing they strike this silly pose for a promotional image. 

I hope to cut loose this weekend with a fanart pinup or sketches at least. It already feels like it's been ages since my last one.
