The best episode

D

Bom lived in the US until she got recruited to YG, so she does speak english fluently (all 2NE1 members does).

I think Dara speaks like 4 languages too xD. Absurdly talented, all of them.

By the way, I do not believe this will be Yooa's first time collaborating with Byul, in case you were surprised that they are acquainted. I believe they were in a one time group called Girl's Next Door xD. RV's Seulgi was also in the group. I believe that is how they all met? And I believe Mamamoo and RV are same year rookies, I think OMG a year after. I feel bad for not remembering the others, it's been like over 5 years at this point. I liked all of them. They were cute.

Minnie looked adorable all tucked into her sweatshirt! I for sure thought Hwasa was about to smother Kei with the pillow lol. It’s so endearing how they can be such queens on stage and then so shy off.

hwasa was STRESSED. my poor girl ;-; btw what's the schedule for uploading queendom reactions?

I didn't watch Queendom 2 so I'm surprised to hear they stuck with having a soloist? That really is not fair. It's too...hard to compete with full on groups solo. Unless its IU, I don't think anyone should have that handicap.

hyejeong and minnie 🥰 also yein my bias in lovelyz in the dance unit

MAMAMOO, RV, and Lovelyz debuted all in 2014. MMM in June, RV in Aug, Lovelyz in Nov. 2NE1 debuted Mar 2009, AOA in 2012, OMG in 2015, (G)Idle in 2018. Edit to say: Yes YooA and Moonbyul has known each other, and were close since then, back in 2017 I think, with Girl Next Door. RV and MMM had known each other since debut years. Even though they didn't mention when, but it was stipulated that it might have been back in early 2015 when both MMM and RV sang on Immortal Songs 2, and their vans parked next to each other at a traffic light when they left, and so they stopped somewhere else and exchanged numbers. Initially, Seulgi was closer to Wheein, but slowly, Seulgi grew closer to Byul and they became best friends with OMG Hyojung (when Byul and Hyojung met each other and interacted here in Qdm.) :D

I was waiting for this episode, the girls oriented their own entertainment and comedy. The show barely had to do anything 🤣

All in all... A soloist is a fun wrinkle, and at the end of the day, the show is really just about exposure for everyone who appears on it... but agreed, from a competition sense, there's just a lot of imbalance. How does one grade a soloist performance vs. a group's? And in the vocal/dance unit, the soloist has to perform twice in a night. During Season 1, not only did they have the unit performances, but they also had the Fandora's Box performance the same night, so conceivably the soloist performs three ties.

2023-03-14 07:00:50 The unit performances were probably the funnest part of the show, and supposedly a Queendom spinoff (Queendom Puzzles) is coming, which will feature a lot of the same elements. It was kind of interesting how they handled the unit performances in Season 1 vs. Season 2. S1 had each group send just two representatives, while S2 had more participants. The great thing about Season 1's unit performances is that you had a spotlight on just 11 idols, so it was very focused... whereas Season 2 was a little bit more broad.

I feel so much that this is the case for most K-Pop groups. Every group has at least one or two members that are just entertaining enough to make it fun, with a very loose script. I'm of the opinion that Mnet and a lot of other networks really shouldn't have to do so much to manufacture drama. Particularly for Queendom, the upvoting and downvoting is such a drag and only represents a small percentage of points---it's really there to just stir the pot, but I find that a lot of viewers just roll their eyes at Mnet trying to make the groups oppose one another. I think the groups are too respectful, and genuinely enjoy eachother's performances too much, for anyone to really say anything that provocative about another group's performance anyway.

That’s not exactly what I was talking about. I just meant how they played with each other like how they do with their own groups.
