Ahhhh... Idle's "Fire" performance. When they picked Park Bom, and consequently, 2NE1, it was definitely the most challenging group they could've picked. Because as much as Idle is the most similar group to 2NE1, they were still a rookie group that was covering a LEGENDARY group in a survival show. There was so much expectation of what 2NE1 did, and expectation for what Idle did in the first round... very hard to live up to. But despite that, they brought a very strong performance and each member performed in accordance with their charms. This is one of the performances that really shows off how powerful Soyeon and Soojin were early in Idle's career, but the other members weren't quite there yet in their stage presence. I think Miyeon and Minnie "got there" around "Oh My God" and "Dumdi Dumdi", while Yuqi and Shuhua's stage presence got a power spike during "Tomboy" and "Nxde." Ultimately though, I think at this time, being the youngest group hurt them trying to cover a group like 2NE1. Comparatively, the other groups were at least four years old. To put it in perspective, present-day Idle is four years old, going on five. It's why we love them though, because Idle always challenges themselves with their performances. I think it would definitely be interesting to see how current, Idle in their fourth year (with Soojin) would do. I have no doubt in my mind that present-day Idle would slay this cover so much harder than they did back in 2019.

I've been looking forward to this episode so much. Destiny was the start of my obsession with Oh My Girl.

Queendom remains the best out of all the Queendom/Kingdom seasons and set the tone & format of the show. Especially this round, has the best stages out of all the entire franchise. That OMG Destiny cover will always be amazing. You may not be seeing Wheein a lot in Queendom, aside from performances as she was in a little bit of mental health break during this time. Solar was not in that evaluation part either because she has to get that ankle checked or she had another schedule. But she will be around in the next episodes (a little). Your favorite in Lovelyz is Mijoo, she's hella funny. You may have seen her famous meme of them going to Music Bank, and her being extra and posing like the rent is due. Ponytail girl's name is Jisoo. Kei's name is pronounced Key (Kee). Their leader has one of the BEST stage name, Baby Soul. The blonde in OMG that had that fake glasses was Mimi, she was Second World in Moonbyul too. The other blonde girl you pointed as gorgeous was Jiho, unfortunately she left the group already. Their leader, Hyojung, is one of Moonbyul's besties irl (along with Seulgi).

I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again….this is hands down the best round of performances of any Queendom/Kingdom series! All we great & there really were no losers! The only thing that kind of bothered me about this round was the reaction by some, especially their own fans, to the Lovelyz cover of Sixth Sense. So few people got the real meaning behind it. First the song is about a group of women fighting adversity & beating the odds! Also the name….Sixth Sense! Lovelyz was fighting to stay out of SIXTH place again! And finally some of their fans thought it was too off brand but 1) that’s exactly what this show is for, to take some chances & 2) Lovelyz even said in their pre show package that they wanted to attack some new styles. I was never much of a fan of theirs but I became one when I saw this performance!

imo mamamoo's performance was by far the best, they showed us 4 different styles then came together to make it even better and it was soooooo different than the original version. idk if it's just me but everyone in AOA seems to have very similar voices? and all members of mmm have very distinct vocals so i really feel like they made this song completely theirs (the original was so plain, nothing interesting about it) and that's probably also why i think that aoa's mamamoo cover was disappointing. all the parts blended into one voice which i didn't like + they just completely copied an older mamamoo stage? but jimin's rap was really good. i really liked park bom's stage but all in all it's so unfair to put a soloist against groups, it will never be as dynamic as them :/ oh my girl had a really great performance and i've never seen the original version but i'm pretty sure they came up with the dance break. it was a really cool stage but idk the song wasn't that great idle's performance was amazing but i have to agree with others, my expectations for them were higher but they really killed the dance break lovelyz song choice was ehhh. the concept was cool tho so, for me: 1. mamamoo 2. oh my girl 3. idle 4. park bom 5. aoa 6. lovelyz

interesting how AOA's Jimin, Mamamoo's Moonbyul and Oh My Girl's Mimi are the main rappers of their group were invited to be contestants in Second World, let's not forget WJSN's Exy, like almost all of the contestants in that show was from queendom 😂

I look forward to a possible future Oh My Girl deep dive 💕

Yes! 4 were in Queendom (Jimin, Moonbyul, Mimi, and Exy), and 4 were in Unpretty Rapstar (Yubin, Moon Sua, Jimin, Exy). XD

I agree!! I feel that their group age made a difference when covering an older group, but also their individual age as well. It's hard to exude certain vibe/presence when they're still comparatively young(er), because after reading your comment, I was imagining if rookie MAMAMOO could have done this song justice, and I had felt they might, but that's also because Solar and Moonbyul was already 23/24 years old, and Wheein and Hwasa were old souls that already had monster stage presence, and I feel in 2014/2015, MAMAMOO had a high chance to exude the energy and presence if they ever cover the song in a performance. (this is also based on looking at their Immortal Song performances where they performed in front of not just many many seniors, but also the original singers) Edit to add: because at the time of Queendom, only Soyeon had experience in survival competition shows, and had the mental strength/familiarity to show that confidence presence on a super senior cover stage. And as you mentioned, if it were current (G)idle, I have no doubt the performance would be amazing.

Mijoo from Lovelyz is friend with YUQI. they have a chaotic dynamic when they are together . She calls YUQI a brat when she gets on her nerves. it's so funny. if you really want to deep dive on Mijoo . she is the host of learn way season2. season 1 was YUQI. KEI ( ke) you will love her more in the upcoming episodes

Happy to see you getting more into OMG and Lovelyz! The next couple episodes is what really made me fall for some of the girls so I look forward to those! There are quite a few crossovers with Mamamoo and Oh My Girl - OMG's Yooa and Lovelyz's Su-jeong were both in the show "Idol Drama Operation Team" with Moonbyul (as well as Red Velvet's Seulgi and Jeon Somi). Moonbyul, Seulgi, and Hyojung (the leader of OMG) are really close friends, they actually joined Moonbyul on one of her Camping Car episodes. OMG's Mimi was on Second World as well (along with Jimin). Oh My Girl is also technically under RBW now, as their company was acquired by RBW in 2021.

2023-02-01 10:44:35 oh dont worry, practically everyone here in korea knows sixth sense 😂 i loved how excited and happy they were to choose their own concepts and stages, but the original song was challenging even for brown eyed girls (they had decided to make the hardest song they would ever perform so that they could leave a mark before getting older) its a really belt-y song w powerful vocals and whistle notes,i really recommend you guys check out the original live performances! ga-in, a member of the group was really popular w the women at the time bc of her iconic looks & performance 😅

i agree that current day gidle wouldve done an even better job due to having more experience, but individual age may... matter a bit less since minzy was 16 during fire era and cl was 19!

Solar was not there at the ranking section because she hurt her ankle during the performance so she went to hospital to check out. WheeIn was sick after the first performance.
