Laura Jensen is a 25 year old woman born in Key Lake City. She is an Alpha metahuman, having lived most of her life as a regular person. Three years ago she suffered a nearly fatal accident which triggered her meta human genes and in the course of a few days she grew to measure 2.40 meters in height ( about 7' 4''), and developed super human abilities such as incredible strength, agility, very keen senses, and photographic memory.

Laura is an orphan who lost her parents when she was a teenager. She came under the care of uncle Jeff, the brother of her late father. Jeff was a member of the Key Lake Security Forces, akin to a police detective.

Laura lived with her uncle until she finished high school and enrolled in college to study computer science and moved to a campus dorm. Her transformation occurred during college. When her uncle found out, he took time off from work to be with her and help her cope with her new self.

It didn't take long for Laura to appreciate her new body and abilities and with some encouragement from her uncle she voluntarily registered in the Key Lake Meta Human Registry, which is a government bureau that keeps information about all Meta Human residents for the purpose of calling on their service in cases of emergencies.

While she was half way in her college career, Laura learns her uncle had been killed by a meta human mobster named DeeDee in a drug raid gone wrong. Grief stricken, Laura drops out of college and enrolls in the Security Forces. Due to her very special condition, she is fast-tracked into active agent status and becomes one of the founding members of a special unit called the Alpha Task Force along with Rose Dumont and Jane Cortez.

Laura has always been one of the prettiest girls in the room, and that has only been enhanced by her new body. Romantically speaking, she has always been flirty and care free, not thinking about settling down any time soon. This changed when she met one of Rose's brothers, Leon. He came to the city from their home in Paris to visit her sister. Rose was assigned to a mission the day he arrived so Laura volunteered to show him around. They spent the night together and much to her surprise, she began to have strong feelings for him. 

For the first time in her life, she thinks she has met "the one", and much to her sorrow, she knows he is in town only briefly and will soon part ways.
