Vicky Comic - what’s coming. (Patreon)

Hi everyone, I just wanted to take a moment to let you guys know what’s the direction this story is going to take and because I understand if you read the pages that are out so far it might seem it’s going nowhere.

The idea from the start was to have one major story arc with a few secondary stories. I decided to begin with an issue 0 that will lead in to the main story introducing the many characters that will take part. The reason is I want everyone to have been established before starting the main story.

So what do we know so far? Vicky is a metahuman (term I borrowed from DC comics which means she has super powers). She is in her early 20s and lives in an old apartment building in the fictional Key Lake City, in a middle class part of town. She lives with her parents, on an apartment on the 5th floor. She is kind and responsible, reason why she has been baby sitter to most of the kids in her building. She is an Alpha, which means her metahuman traits did not manifest from birth. It actually happened in a very traumatic way three years ago and she has never really gotten over what happened, she never told anyone what exactly happened to her. Since that day she has had trouble sleeping and has become very easy to anger. The one thing that brings her peace is her friendship with the kids in her building, she loves them as if they were their own and she is not above sitting on the ground and playing with them. One of the kids, Freddy got a little fresh with her and she finds out that behavior is influenced by his uncle, a person most people think of as a misogynist and a creep but is linked to her in a way she yet does not know.

Issue 0 will pick up speed in the next few pages where we will meet Craig, an old flame to Vicky who left town a few years before Vicky’s change and who is in deep trouble. He will inadvertently involve Vicky in with a very powerful crime organization. We will also meet Sofia, the head of a “club” of metahuman women whose intentions might not be as squeaky clean as they pretend. She will reach out to Vicky and recruit her into the group. They will be instrumental in her fight against the crime organization.

Other smaller plot lines include Vicky’s first day of college and dealing with a hostile metahuman on campus, Sarah Nova who is a new pledge to the Alpha Alpha Alpha sorority. The meeting with Ebony and Scarlett who work at the college as the football coach and librarian respectively.

I have many pages of story which I can’t wait to illustrate. I’ve been drawing and writing about these characters for over 20 years and it’s been a real dream of me to put it all on a book and it’s very thrilling to be doing it now.
