I re-watched the first Pokemon movie that dropped in 1999 and the ending credits stuck with me. Like a lot of US anime releases of that era, instead of keeping the Japanese score, they ran with a licensed soundtrack featuring the biggest pop stars of that time (Aguilera, Spears, etc.) Cartoon characters walking around amazing landscape paintings to a Hot100 hit provides a beautiful commercial vibe. The vibe of this is, and is being, phased out by anime mouthbreathers who have this stupid obsession with "faithfulness to the original" even though most of the shit that makes it over here is for kid audiences anyway. The vibe of the era is expressed through the soundtrack of these kinds of movies, that isn't something that should be lost.

IN THAT MEDIAFIRE LINK is the ending credits updated with contemporary Billboard hits. We ran it through a VCR to give it the time capsule vibe I'm getting at. Download it and give it a look.
