Original fur gold, dyed is orange.

Had an interesting breakthrough today. While I was dyeing fleece for this project I threw a small piece of this short fur into the dye bath just to see how it would go.

To my surprised it dyed amazingly well. The nap wasn't ruined as is usually the case with trying to dye faux fur on a stovetop.

I think it may be because of the makeup of this particular fur. It doesn't really have a fur direction (the thing that is usually ruined by heating it like this) and is very short and dense. Sort of between luxe/eyelash minky and a beaver fur. The heat did not ruin the fluffyness of the fur amazingly.

I'll definitely be using this a lot for plush in the future. Dye was rit dyemore for synthetics.

heya! Sorry I cannot remember as I just tossed it in as a test as I was dyeing another fabric. I think 30 mins? I am going to be dyeing a larger batch in the coming months I will make sure to document it fully to post here
