Have started using these clear sheets to mark patterns on (that will see repeated use). It works so well! Much more rigid than printer paper, can see markings on both sides when flipping/mirroring. Waterproof too. 

You have to manually draw/trace your pattern onto it, but it's far cheaper than overhead projector paper. I think I paid $20-30 for the 250 sheets and they have lasted me for ever. It wont deteriorate like paper or cardboard.

that's what i've been using since i started making plushies and it's soooooo much better than paper/cardbord! plus it's see-through so i can draw out my embroidery placement on them for perfect placement on the fabric! :D

Ooh! This is a great idea!! What type of pens do you find work best for writing on plastic and fabric?

friction markers for pale fabric, silver sharpies for dark. fine tip sharpies for marking on the plastic itself
