Removable wing plate (Patreon)

Messed around today with some ideas on how to make Zard's wings removable. They are so wide on the large version that it'd be a nightmare to post him. Rather than playing that game I've decided to make his wings removable. 

I'm more confident using magnets and removable parts after working on Crash. I started off cutting and drilling these plates (1 for the back and 1 for inside the wings) out of marine grade plywood. 

Drilling the holes in the perfect place proved a pain. I don't have a drill press or a vice, so my weak noodle arms were struggling with the drill spinning the wood or taking chunks out. 

I had my silicone and resin bottles out for working on his toes. Had a bit of an epiphany and thought I could skip all this fuss and cast the plates instead. I made a quick mold, put the magnets in place (sandwiching them over some clear plastic so they wouldn't move) and poured the resin over the top of the magnets. 

I used 2 magnets for each stack. After doing this twice they are insanely strong! I struggle to pull them apart. So should work well. Those magnets are not coming out in 1000 years.
