Tongue time (Patreon)

Started on the tongue today. I drew a template for the shape, cut it out on some scrap wood, and screwed it into a wide base so I had a solid piece to sculpt on. Slowly built up the layers of clay, then heated and and raked over to smooth it out. 

Shape is pretty much there. Tomorrow I'll give the block shape an overall final smoothing and add texture etc. Then will make a simple jacket mold that will slip off the tongue. 

Ideally this should fit through the slit I have made at the back of the mouth, so that the tongue can be displayed either short (behind teeth) or extend long (hanging out of mouth). If that doesn't work I'll probably cast 2 tongues so there is the option of both looks.
