Glad to have pumped these out today. I spent yesterday cleaning up the final eyelet print for Crash's shoes (white). After some coats of filler primer, lots of sanding and a final coat of self leveling resin, the master looked shiny and ready to go.

Since Crash has 16 eyelets in total, it would have been insane to print and sand every single one. Perfecting one took hours, so I was definitely not going down that route. I ended up making 4 small molds of the master eyelet out of Pinkysil (quick curing) silicone.

I made 4 mold boxes, and molded each one at a time, glueing the master down to the base. I then applied a thin print layer of silicone applied with a paintbrush. I find that doing this prevents bubbles showing on the final cast, since the layer that goes on first is what will connect to the resin.

The remaining silicone was then poured in, left to cure and repeat.

After the 4 molds were done, I set to casting the eyelets with a quick set resin. They came out perfect! Very smooth and shiny like the master copy. I made a few extra in case I mess up the paintjob etc.

Very pleased to have these done. I'll need to sand the back of each one to make it perfectly level, then prime/paint/seal all of them to look metallic.
