I can finally share it online, I picked up my 3d printer yesterday. Been putting money aside for it for what seems like forever, but I'm so hyped to finally have it.

I went with an ultimaker since I am a total tech newb, and have no idea how to fix a printer myself if something goes majorly wrong. I bought it from a local tech company, so if it ever needs tuning beyond what I can do, I can take it in and have it serviced by them which is a major bonus in my books.

I have a lot of plans for this machine. Going to be using it with Crash, printing shoe soles and interchangeable eyes for him as a start. I'm also wanting to learn to model and print custom plush joints, regalia, armor, electronic cases etc etc. I'm sure I'll keep finding more and more uses for it once I get used to modelling.

Feel free to ask any questions. I've done a lot of research but I'm still a total newbie as far as hands on experience goes. Can't wait to print something that I've modeled myself. For now I'm just testing it out with some cool premade things (like thread spool holders, paint organisers etc).

That is awesome! I'm excited to see what you'll do with it. I'll 7 probably have more questions later, but here's a first one; how much does printing something like a spool holder cost in material?

So this spool holder (I'll post it up when finished) used 35g of filament. for 1000g of filament it's about $35 here.
