I finished Dash around lunchtime, so had plenty of time to do a bunch of dyeing. Wanted to dye colours for both Starlight (got enough for 3-4 versions of her lol) and some for Silverstream, in case I get commissioned to make her. She's essentially Starlight's color but paler so I figured I may as well do it at the same time.

I dyed blush minky with lilac idye poly (just a light dip) to get Starlights color. I then added some pink to the dye bath to get the paler colors for Silverstream.

It's very funny how the dye reacts to temperature. As the temp lowered (I have a low power stove top so struggle to keep the temp up), the color changed from more pink to purple. The pink tones must bond better at a higher temp.

I just dyed an absolute tonne so I had heaps to choose from. The cool pinks should come in handy in the future too.

Your issues with temp control oddly remind my of my husband and when he brews beer. He has to sort of keep that stuff regulated and it's really hard with the electric stove. I think this year he's buying a separate burner that runs on propane so he can get a more steady temp. Random cross-discipline info! ♥ These colors are bea-u-tee-ful!
