Hair swoopies (Patreon)

Got her mane and tail done today, minus hand sewing it to her head and body. Her tail had all been sewn yesterday, so I just had to turn it out and iron it. 

After debating a tonne about whether to make her tail in one single piece and have it stuffed, I figured her hair is meant to resemble feathers, that would be flat. I'm glad I went with this style and made the mane and tail 'feathers' in layers instead of stitching lines into solid shapes. 

Her mane took a REALLY long time to pattern. The method I use is pretty simple (see last post) but it takes so much fiddling it's not funny. I must have printed out 10 pages of various mane shapes till I butchered the paper into the shape I wanted. I just LOVE that big swoop at the top. 

Tomorrow I'll sew it all down, and hopefully get her final accessories (flower and necklace) done. Worst case I'll have to spend a tiny bit longer the next day on finishing things up. I'm really happy with how much she looks like Skystar.
