Skystar open mouth (Patreon)

I was inspired by some super cute smiling Skystar pics to attempt an open mouth. Have tried ages ago, but was never happy with it. This time, I'm freaking thrilled. I wont be sharing exactly how I did it, but essentially I made an inner structure for the mouth cavity that sits inside the head. 

I'm so so excited because this is going to let me make almost any open mouth in great detail. I'm so psyched to use this on an open mouth pinkie and a whole lot of other projects. It's really going to blow open the expressions I can make on future plush. 

I still need to tweak the pattern here. Her beak needs a sharper point, and I want to redesign her eyes, this first pass doesn't look great from the front. But I can't wait to see how this plush turns out as the first use of this technique.
