Thanks to your support I've been able to buy an eGPU enclosure and an NVIDIA GPU. Both arrived recently and I've been experimenting with Iray rendering. The new hardware will enable me to create more realistic images (better characters, better lighting) at a higher resolution. As soon as I have a better grasp of it I'll post some test renders and will add a monthly wallpaper  to the reward tiers (probably for the $ 3+ patrons).

If all goes well (still need to wrap my head around the Iray concept of lighting) version 0.7 will make use of the improved renders. That leaves the old, low resolution renders of Day 1 to 12, though, which I'd really like to re-render. Unfortunately it's not as simple as re-rendering the old scene files, because Iray approaches lighting very differently from 3Delight (the old engine I used). Converting them is going to be a bit of an undertaking, I fear.

Currently, I'm still focussed on finishing v0.6, so I'll have some time to think about how to approach all this. The renders for Day 11 are done and I've started on Day 12. I'll have something solid on a release date in the next update.

Congrats on the new toy. I'd suggest using the new techniques for future renders, and only going back and re-rendering the old stuff as time permits (or when the mood strikes). I'm happy to see better-looking renders, but I'm even happier to see new content :)
