I saw Babymetal in Brisbane, Australia on 8 June and Pa Pa Ya was on the set list (it was for most shows [maybe even all] on the Asia/Australia leg of Babymetal's world tour). When you see them in Nashville, make sure you pick up a Babymetal towel from the merch store so you can swing it over your head in the crowd. Yes, it's a thing that the crowd does all over the world when this song is played. You don't want to miss out on that bit of crowd interaction. The towel cost me AUD$40 (about US$25ish) but I bought it in just in case they played Pa Pa Ya. I'm so glad I did. There is a palpable sense of community when you are taking part in audience participation with Babymetal, you don't feel weird doing it because everyone is doing it. It's almost ritualistic; I'm serious. However, the highlight of their concert for me was when they played Shanti, Shanti, Shanti. This was previously far from my favorite song of theirs but seeing them perform this live blasted Shanti into the stratosphere for me. Su, Moa and Momo's vocals were impeccable, and the dancing was so technical and wonderfully done. I won't spoil the song by rattling on about it, but you need to check it out before September, as it was on most of the set lists for the Asian/Australian leg of the tour, so will likely be in the US set list as well.

I can look back on the Glastonbury performance now and see that it pales in comparison with other shows. I have several of their shows on Bluray now, and they are of course much better. The Tokyo Dome shows are unreal. Nevertheless, watching the Glastonbury performance was what turned me onto the band originally. I thought I'd check out the stream since I was curious, and ended up watching the whole thing in astonishment. Needless to say, I'm way deep in the Foxhole now.
