Good morning everyone, you're not seeing double, there was a small error in todays pattern.

I've made a small correction to the instructions for the gusset pick up. In the video you see that I knit across the instep when picking up the gussets, which was correct. The pattern told you to work the Waltz pattern at this point which was incorrect. My apologies everyone, I have corrected this in the written pattern which is now attached below.

Kay is back in her festive grotto with some special things to share with you this wonderful morning! Whilst this is of course her 'Festive Knit along', in todays instalment she is super excited to share with you a brand new special tip for closing the gap on your heel flap!

Join Kay this morning as she:

  • Introduces you to today’s section of the pattern
  • Shows you her completed heel flap and turn
  • Demonstrates how to pick up your gusset stitches
  • Shows you a brand new special tip for closing the gap
  • Demonstrates how to start knitting your lace pattern across the top of your sock
  • Talks you through the accompanying chart
  • Lets you know how to complete your increases
  • Reads you an extract from ‘The Nutcracker and the Mouse King’ by E.T.A. Hoffman
  • The pattern for this section of ‘Nutcracker Socks’ is attached to the bottom of this post. If you are uncertain how to download the pattern, this video shows you how https://www.patreon.com/posts/how-to-find-and-47907523

Thank you for this advent. This is my first time knitting a sock with Kay and I find her advice very helpful!

I am very much enjoying this MKAL! I’m even keeping pace and CO 2nd sock over the weekend. Today, I made some Delia’s Christmas Chutney!!! It won’t have a full month to sit and steep, but it tastes lovely even now, so I’m not worried. :-)
