Christmas with 'The Bakery Bears' (Patreon)

Welcome everyone to the 2023 Bakery Bears Mystery Advent Knit Along Reveal!

We’ve reached that exciting time of the year when we reveal to you some of the details about the design that will be included within 'The Bakery Bears Advent Calendar 2023'. This years advent calendar will be available in full to Silver, Gold & Platinum Patrons from the 1st-24th of December 2023. ALL Patrons will join us on the 24th of December 2023 for the final instalment of the calendar.

For the first time ever, we are revealing the theme of the design so that you can bear this in mind when choosing your yarn colours. So, without further ado we can tell you that this years theme is……… THE NUTCRACKER!!!! So exciting!!

Now onto the information regarding the yarns that you’ll need, along with needle details -

Needles  

I used a 2.5mm 80cm circular needle. You could use double points if you prefer. The gauge required is 34 stitches and 44 rows to 4 inches. Adjust your needle size accordingly if needs be.

Yarn  

You will need 3 colours of fingering weight yarn. These should be solid or tonal. I used Malabrigo Ultimate Sock (420yds to 100g) in Ravelry Red, Patrick and Frank Ochre. You’ll need no more than 50g of each colour. You don’t need to use the same colours that I did, choose colours that for you make you think of The Nutcracker. I used around the same amount of each colour, so no single colour is dominant. The colours you choose should contrast well with each other.

Notions 

A progress keeper is useful, a tapestry needle for weaving in ends and 2 stitch markers (if using a long circular).
