Welcome to the 'Bakery Bears Radio Show' Episode 80

We are delighted to return with our latest episode of the Radio Show.

Today we are discussing a topic suggested by one of you amazing listeners! The question is, what would happen to the world if the news disappeared for two weeks. What would the positives be, what would the negatives be and at the end of it all, would we be better off.

Join Kay & Dan as they:

  • Mention Dan’s Frank Green coffee mug
  • Discuss the current trend of not putting your phone to your ear when talking
  • Mention Storm Otto and the impact its had on their local woods
  • Talk through their memories of news in the 1980’s
  • Discuss 24 hour news channels and what they think of them
  • Talk through how too much news can effect your mood
  • Discuss the impact of the internet on news reporting
  • Ask the question ‘should news reporting try to be more balanced’?

We'll see you on the 9th of March with the next episode of the show.

I was just saying to my husband Michael, what would happen if WiFi disappeared, went down, and never came back. Just think of all the things you would get done, the books you could read without interference. Just soft instrumental music playing in the background. Takes me back to being at my grandmother's home, when she taught me to knit, it was the best of times. 🤗💕🫶🏻 Michael worked for the San Diego Union-Tribune Newspaper for almost 40 years. He can tell you how news has been reported from the 1970s to the 2000s. And how the truth in reporting has changed from being reported in a printed newspaper to how it's reported through the internet. Times have not improved, they have only gotten worse.

Wonderful episode, very thought-provoking. I could go on for hours with my opinion on the news but I'll spare everyone, you both covered a great deal of it already. Thank you for taking us along with you. Have a great day!
