Following on from Kay's introductory video, we are so excited to return with Kay's beginners guide to hand embroidery. Over six videos she will share with you the main stitches which will be used in the main Stitchy U course which commences on the 26th of July. These videos are designed to show complete beginners the techniques Kay will be using when the main course begins.

In this video Kay will:

  • Shows you what a french knot looks like
  • Demonstrates how to a french knot
  • Explain when you might use this technique

Kay, have you ever tried the Colonial Knot? I used to use the Colonial knot instead of the French knot for a long time. It can be easier for those that struggle with the French knot. I liked that It was a little different.

WOW! Thnak you for introducing me to the Colonial knot! I have always hated the French knot because it's always plays up for me, so I will try this one next time.
