Good Morning Everyone!

We are rapidly approaching the 1st December, so I thought it was time to give you some details about our upcoming advent calendar!

  • As with previous years, this year I have created a very special mystery design that you can knit along with
  • The design will be revealed in stages throughout the advent calendar
  • As an added extra, I have dyed up two exclusive colourways. I’ll be showing you how to dye these up at the very start of the mystery knit along, if you would like to use the same yarn that I did.

I used all Dharma dyes and I’ll note below the colours you will need :-

For the pink shade - Ballerina Pink, Peach Blush and Antique Mauve.

For the blue shade - Delphinium Blue and Spearmint. I am aware that the Delphinium Blue is difficult to find, so you could try Sky Blue by Jacquard or Sun Orchid by Landscape Dyes.

You will need a minimum of 50g of each colour. I dyed up 1 x 100g skein of each.

The design requires fingering weight yarn. I used a yarn with nylon and some sparkle.

If you want to use yarn from your stash, then I’d recommend a solid/semi-solid/tonal yarn. You’ll need 2 colours that complement each other - they do not have to be blue and pink, you can use whatever is your preference.

I’d rather not give you needle requirements as this will give away what the design is. However, if you do need to know then feel free to email me (kay@bakerybears.co.uk) and I’ll happily tell you.

I’m so excited to get started on this with you all, is it December yet??!!

Still working on Christmas projects for the Grandchildren as I watch today. You mentioned the wind the other day, wasn't it awful?! Not far from where we used to live, a flat roof blew off a flat! Sleeping in the attic, I was a bit worried about our roof...so noisy! Back in the 1080's, just before I worked there, a tree blew down and blocked the driveway to the children's nursery. I wonder how many of the then small children, but now adults, remember being lifted Iver a fence into a housing estate so they could be united with their parents.

Kay, those sausage rolls looked delicious! Our l9cal cafe actually makes pork ones with chutney baked in. I am not a great eater of chutney, so haven't tried them. But they might be another idea for you. I'm guessing also that you could freeze them raw and have them freshly baked when friends call round.
