Knit Along with Kay - Review - Hedgehog Fibers Part 2

Earlier this month we began our second yarn review. Kay is back with the second part of her look at Hedgehog Fibers Sock. This time she has been working with the yarn for a number of weeks and lets you know how it feel's when you work with it. We'll be back soon with more reviews but next week kay will be back with a sit down and a chat in her usual Knit Along with Kay setting ;-) Thank you so much for watching and supporting us. I'm only just seeing this now (as I am a new patron) - I agree with the Hedgehog fibre yarns being smooth and on the light side - skinny. I wanted to just say that this sort of yarn feels better after washing (I washed my skeins of Woollmeise before knitting), and also to say that on the Hedgehog fibres website they do not recommend this yarn for sock knitting (why they call it "Sock Yarn" I don't know, they should really change it) rather they say its good for shawls and that for sock their Twist Sock yarn is recommended - that is 80/20 BFL/nylon. I have knit with that, it is still skinny, I used 2 mm needles to get 8 sts/inch - the socks are very good though.

Late to the conversation…. But I bought this yarn a few years ago. I bought 3 skeins to make a shawl and whilst the colours were so beautiful, the yarn was cottony and so splitty! I was forever undoing a stitch as I had split it. Took forever and then I gave up. The yarn itself wasn’t the nicest to work with either. So it got frogged!! :(
