Hi Kay and Dan! I'm just catching up on all the POP episodes -- doing a marathon this week! .. and was so surprised to see my unicorn hats on the show!!! It just made me giggle so much! Thanks for featuring them! There's a bit of a story to these that you might appreciate. I made these for a friend to give to another friend. They are both breast cancer survivors and were the first "Butterflies" in The Butterfly Story Thunder Bay --- a hugely successful art project and fundraiser that gave survivors the opportunity to express their breast cancer experience through body art and photography. They had professional artists, estheticians, photographers and videographers and created a beautiful series of fantasy photographs that were turned into a book and calendar and a short video of these women. They are adult size. I'd looked on Ravelry and found several patterns for unicorn hats but really wasnt happy with the shape of most of them so I pretty much made them up on my own as I went along. The Horn is just knit as a tapered piece and then I took a piece of yarn and sewed/weaved it in from the top going down in a spiral and tightened it a bit to make the shape of the horn. I have one of my own that I wear on special occasions like knitting retreat pajama parties! ;-)
