Welcome to our ’Getting Ready for the Holidays’ special!!

Folks, its days away from the launch of this years Bakery Bears Advent Calendar!! But before we do anything today, we would like to wish everyone who is celebrating today a VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! 

Now, we've had lots of people asking if Kay has ever made Christmas Pudding on the 'Pudding Club'. She absolutely has!! In 2018 we finished the first season of the 'Pudding Club' with 'Plum Pudding'.

So to get you in the mood for the festivities which will commence on Sunday the 1st of December, we are delighted to make this special Gold Edition of Kay making 'Plum Pudding' available to everyone until the 24th of December 2019. Theres a lots of additional footage from the show which we broadcast last year, plus there's additional outtakes and all our research sources listed below. 

Plum Pudding Ingredients 

  • 2 tablespoons (tbsp) Rum or Brandy 
  • 75 millilitres (ml) Barley Wine
  • 75 ml Stout 
  • 50 grams (g) Self Raising Flour 
  • 110g Sultanas 
  • 110g Raisins
  • 275g Currants  
  • 25g Whole Almonds 
  • 225g Soft Dark Brown Sugar
  • Grated Zest of an Orange
  • Grated Zest of a Lemon
  • 1 Small Cooking Apple
  • 110g White Breadcrumbs
  • Two Eggs
  • 25g Mixed Peel
  • A Good Pinch of Cinnamon 
  • One Level Teaspoon of Mixed Spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon Grated Nutmeg

Thank you for sharing 💞 Mine is done and tucked away in the linen cupboard ready for Christmas Day. My Nanna always did a boiled pudding in a cloth, and I took in this tradition too but this year is the first time making a steamed pudding. It was a much easier experience! And I think it will taste just as yummy 😋Hope you have a wonderful weekend x
