The fact that this season still finding new creative ways to fry my visual cortex is actually awesome. The first season set the bar so high (s-tier work) and I am not disappointed in the slightest with what I have seen so far.

Vi should’ve never gone to fight/kill Jinx imo. Vi shouldn’t be involved in killing her sister. Cait knew this and kept trying to say Vi shouldn’t have gone and Vi kept saying she could do it, but in the end she couldn’t.

A few thoughts: 1) The very beginning of the episode we hear Caitlyn's mom say, "The people of the undercity deserve to breathe." Caitlyn, who was one of the most compassionate characters in season one, hears that and decides, "No they don't, certainly not all of them all of the time." 2) Damn, it was tragic to realize Jinx's grand plan was an elaborate attempt at suicide by cop. 3) Arcane loves its parallels and if you look closely after Caitlyn strikes Vi and leaves, some of the shots of Vi on the ground weeping are very similar to the shots of Powder weeping after Vi struck her at the end of season one act one.

Great reaction! I love the stripped down beginning it def has blackbox vibes. It also kinda looks like they are in their pajamas which brings me joy for some reason lol. I knew when we got a CaitVi kiss we were doomed :( I agree about your points on Vi, I love her but her quickness to turn to violence and to be swayed by others are definitely her fatal flaws. I think its good writing, she lost her family then grew up in prison so a poor sense of self and a frivolity about violence makes sense. Im also on the fence about the vi knowing cait wouldn't miss thing. Another perspective on it: I feel like Vi doesn't care a whole lot about her own life (she constantly puts herself in harms way) so when it was just her, Cait, and Jinx she was fine with the risk of cait shooting right past her head, but when an innocent was involved she wasn't fine with the risk. I think Vi has a real problem with innocent people getting caught up in Jinx & Caits violence. Im still holding out hope for a Vi/Jinx reconciliation. And man Im so disappointed about Cait being violent with Vi, she spent her life getting beat up in the undercity, then prison, then in various fights, then her own girlfriend hits her? Its so messed up.

The switch up with Cait is crazy and Im curious to see how the writers make it work because like you said out most compassionate character is on a villain arc. Good point about the parallel!

I feel like a big theme this Act was Cycles/ repeating history. S1 Act 1 Vi hits someone she loves- leaves S2 Act1 we get a similar scene but shes getting hit by someone she loves and they are leaving her. S1 Act1 Jinx gets adopted by a violent criminal. S2 Act1 Jinx IS a violent criminal and has accidentally adopted a little kid. S1 Act 1 ending was the beginning of Jinx's "villain" trajectory. S2 Act 1 ending is the beginning of Caits. S1 Act1 Jinx loses her parental figure and falls into the hands of someone whose going to use her. S2 Act1 Cait loses her parent and is falling right into the hands of someone who is going to use her. Its like these characters cant break the cycles they are in so it keeps repeating in different ways.

I felt a similar "deja vu cycle thing" going on.... (especially reinforced by the whole Jace going literal infinite...), thank you for articulating it so clearly.
