I feel like the Jennifer / Mariner relationship was a bit of a missed opportunity. It happened almost entirely off screen and was kind of just dropped. Really, the only time we got to see them interact as a couple was in the DS9 episode. So I am glad we got this episode. I feel like we finally got a better idea of what they were like together, why they don't work, and got some got some closure. And yes, I know Jen was a complete ass to Mariner in the penultimate episode of Season 3, but frankly so was everyone else, including her mother. This episode showcased why Mariner didn't really try to reconcile with her like she did with everyone else.
