I usually don’t pay attention to drama in the Sims community, mainly because there’s so much positivity it’s easy to ignore any bad apples that stir up trouble. This time however, I feel that I need to say something publicly.

It’s come to my attention that at least one CC creator has claimed to have embedded code into their CC downloads to track people who download their Patreon content. I emphatically condemn this type of action. It’s reckless, childish and almost certainly illegal.

I’ve known for years that my CC is being pirated. I’ve always ignored this and instead focused on feeling appreciation and gratitude for those Simmers who want to (and are able to) show their support. I’m also mindful that these are extremely difficult times and not everyone can afford to donate for CC.

I want to say that I’m horrified that this situation has arisen. I’ve always felt safe in our little community and I want my supporters to feel safe too. Whether you choose to support me or not, I’m glad that my CC brings enjoyment to my fellow Simmers. When it comes down to it, this is just a game after all.

As I said, I usually avoid engaging on the topic of free/vs. donation CC and to that end I won’t be responding to any comments on this post. That said, I wanted to be clear that I am staunchly opposed to tracking/doxxing or any other kind of action against CC pirating.

We now return you to your regular programming....
