The Galactic Guardians are a team of colour coordinated heroes who fight strange creatures attacking the Earth. When Toby is recruited he is shocked to discover that becoming The Pink Guardian involves becoming a woman.

~

Toby sat down on the bench to rest his aching feet; an entire morning of door knocking and dropping off resumes had really taken its toll. He leaned back and let his head flop backwards over the back of the bench and sighed; he still had several more hours of job searching ahead of him too. Maybe moving to a town on the other side of the country for a fresh start wasn’t quite the genius idea he’d thought it would be. Regardless, he wasn’t about to give up easily.

“Alright Toby, enough moping.” He groaned to himself. “Time to-”

BOOM!!

The ground shook and everybody in the area stumbled. Toby blinked in surprise and looked behind him toward the commotion and felt his jaw drop. There was a…creature, humanoid but made from constantly shifting silver fluid. At first it looked like a mannequin but then it seemed to look around the park and spotted a dog, a second later the humanoid shape moved into that of a wolf. A silver, constantly changing wolf with glowing silver eyes.

“A Morphling…” He breathed.

He’d heard of the creatures of course, they had appeared at random all over the globe, seemingly at random, for the past hundred years or so. Nobody really knew why, only that they always seemed to appear in places with lots of people. Thankfully, as soon as the monsters appeared, so did the solution to their defeat.

“A guardian! It’s the Blue Guardian!” A kid cried, trying in vain to head toward the monster rather than away from it as their parents dragged them away.

They were right though, only a few seconds behind the Morphling was one of the iconic Galactic Guardians, the mysterious masked heroes who fought the alien creatures. Toby had never seen one in person before, only ever on the news. It was a constant source of theorising, who the guardians were and how they managed to teleport all over the globe to wherever they were needed.

“Everybody get to safety, I’ll handle this!”

A guardian in a tight fitting blue spandex bodysuit, mini skirt and gauntlet gloves appeared with her face hidden behind a heavy blue helmet and visor. She was only a few metres from Toby’s bench; how had she gotten there without him noticing?

He knew he should run, but it was just a single Morphling and he couldn’t turn down the chance to see a real Guardian fighting up close! Instead of leaping into action straight away though, she began to…dance? No that was the wrong word, a series of quick, sharp movements before freezing in place.

“Ice Dragon Fang!”

Toby’s jaw dropped as a sword made of pure, solid ice appeared in her gloved hand.

“Get ready to be frostbitten!” She declared before surging forward and slicing at the silver creature with a dancer's poise and precision.

The Morphling and the dancer began their battle, though it looked closer to a mix between dancing and a martial arts display than any fight he’d ever seen. It was mesmerising, watching the woman in that tight fitting outfit move around the Morphling shifting and changing shape as it fought.

He felt his heart pounding in his chest with a mixture of adrenaline and…something else. Watching a real life superhero fight hadn't been something he had expected but it was certainly fresh. The woman’s sword cut straight through the silver, semi solid liquid that made up the creature and it seemed to harden and shatter in an instant.

The tiny shards dissipated into nothing, except for one crystal that seemed to glow oddly and float slowly to the ground where the Blue Guardian walked over and picked it up. She examined it curiously for a moment before a small blue light flared within and the helmet snapped in his direction.

A second later the hair on the back of his neck stood on end and he turned just in time to see a large blob of silver forming behind him. Toby didn't have any time to think; he just reacted. Several years of high school martial arts kicked in and his leg swung out, shattering the creature before it could fully form.

“Woah…”

It was like kicking a foam mat; solid, but slightly squishy.

“Did I just…kill an alien?!”

“You sure did.”

He turned back to see that mysterious woman in the blue guardian outfit standing before him. Up close he could take in all the details of the costume; the tight fitting bodysuit that fit snugly against her curves and allowed for maximum flexibility with the mini dress over the top, the boots and gauntlets and of course the shiny helmet with the sleek black visor. It was so dark and shiny in fact, Toby could see his own bewildered face reflected back at him.

“Uh…you’re welcome?” He tried awkwardly, reaching down to pick up another crystal similar to the one the first creature had dropped. “Did you…want this?”

God he felt lame. It was hard to know if he was saying the right thing or not with her face totally hidden, she could be smiling right now or sneering in contempt and he had no way of knowing. The crystal in his hand was still glowing, but unlike the one the guardian was holding, his was a soft shade of pink.

‘Man I really hope this thing isn't going to give me radiation poisoning or something.’

Suddenly, the guardian opened her arms wide and surged forward; Toby flinched only to blink in shock as the guardian hugged him.

“I knew it!” She squealed, “I knew if I was just patient and worked hard I’d find you!”

“Find me?”

Toby was beginning to think maybe this guardian was an alien herself.

“You’re not quite what I imagined.” The guardian cocked her head to the side after taking a step back, “but the Altering Emblem will sort it all out I am sure!”

“Altering what?”

The Blue Guardian didn’t seem to notice he had no idea what she was talking about, she was busy opening a small panel on one of her gauntlets and fiddling with a few buttons.

“Two to the base!” She announced before slamming the gauntlet panel closed.

Toby was about to ask what she was on about when suddenly his vision fuzzed, filling with a strange pink light for a moment before disappearing. The display left him dazzled, dizzy and half blind but a hand held him steady.

“Don't worry, you get used to it after a while.” The Guardian assured him.

He blinked her into focus and realised with a start that they were not in the park anymore; in fact, he had no idea where he was at all. It looked like something out of a science fiction movie; they were standing on a circular pad in the centre of a spherical room. Each wall was covered in monitors and desks, quietly blinking and beeping with lights. Each screen showing a random location as if through a security camera. All of this would have been impressive enough…but it was the view from the window that really got his attention.

“Is that…Earth?” Toby gaped, pressing his fingers to the glass and staring down at the green and blue ball slowly rotating beneath them.

“Yup! “ The Blue Guardian said brightly. “Welcome to the Command Nexus of the Galactic Guardians, Earth Edition!”

Her hands went to her helmet and slowly removed it, revealing a beautiful woman around Toby’s own age with icy blonde hair and vibrant green eyes.

“Ella, Blue Guardian of Earth. Nice to meet you.”

Toby took the hand she offered out of inertia, his brain was still trying to catch up to what was happening. He had no idea what to say. A moment later she pressed another button on her gauntlet and her whole costume disappeared in a small flash of blue light, she was back to looking like a normal woman in a tight fitting pair of jeans and a blue singlet shirt.

“Do you always kidnap random people and reveal your identity to them?” He blurted out eventually and Ella giggled.

Not the best first question.

“Sorry, that was rude, wasn't it?”

“No, no you’re fine. This is all probably a lot. I remember when I got recruited, Finn was a lot more gentle than I have been admirably, sorry I probably should have explained a bit more before zapping you up here but I am just so excited to finally meet you!”

“That’s fi-uh, did you just say recruitment?”

Ella nodded enthusiastically.

“Not just anybody can become a Galactic Guardian, it has to be somebody with the right aura.” She explained, pointing to five pedestals, each with a large coloured crystal on top.

“I have the Blue Aura, so I can wield an Altering Emblem and be powered up with the Blue Ice Crystals Power. The other three Guardian crystals already belong to the rest of my team but we’ve been searching for number five, that’s you! The Altering Crystal shard responded to you back in the park!”

She went on to explain that at any given time, there were five guardians per planet. Tasked with keeping it safe from alien threats. Namely, the Morphlings.

“They arrived here almost a hundred years ago, a comet burnt up in the atmosphere made from the same crystal material that gives us our powers. That’s when the Old Ones came and recruited the first set of Guardians.” Ella said, “But all those shards ran out a long time ago, somebody has been making them artificially and sending those creatures down to cause havoc, but how or why we don’t know. But at least we can use them to find new Guardian’s when we need, like you!”

She leapt up to the display where the large crystals were glowing softly and picked up what looked like a wristband from before the great pink one. She handed it to him, gently clipping it closed around his wrist where the metallic ends melted together.

“See? That wouldn’t have happened if you weren't right for the job.” She beamed. “Welcome to the team Pink Guardian!”

This was…a lot to take in so quickly; but Toby couldn't help but feel a kernel of excitement burning in his chest. He was going to be a superhero? One of only five on the whole planet? As far as new starts go, that was certainly something. He looked down at the wristband, made to look like a watch with a pastel pink frame and he couldn't help but grimace.

“I get pink?” Toby said reluctantly.

The idea of wearing a skin tight pink bodysuit was…not really the image he had for himself as a superhero.

“Yeah, weird. It’s usually a woman who gets pink but go figure.” Ella shrugged, “I was sort of hoping for another girl to join the team but I’ve been defending Earth alone for so long now I’m just happy to have anybody to talk to. It gets lonely when you have to keep your identity a secret.”

“Alone?” Toby questioned. “What about the other three? You said one of them is called Finn?”

“The red, yellow and Green Guardians are off-world, hoping to find some clue as to who has been reconstituting the crystals to make more Morphlings.” Ella sighed. “It’s been just me for the last few months.”

She looked sad before brightening again and grabbing both his hands in hers.

“But not anymore! I have you to work with now! We’re going to be good friends, I just know it.”

Her smile was blinding and Toby felt his heart flutter a little, she was standing so close and her palms were warm against his. The realisation suddenly struck him; he was going to be working side by side with this woman, mostly alone for maybe months. This woman who not only seemed very eager to get to know him but was obviously lonely.

Maybe wearing pink wouldn’t be so bad after all.

He was considering leaning in a bit closer to actually try a kiss when one of the screens bored red and an alarm had them springing apart in shock. Damn, what were the odds of that?

“A Morphling attack! In Tokyo of all places.” Ella cried. “Damn, they are getting closer together. Normally I’d train you a bit first but no time, let’s transform and get down there!”

All of a sudden Toby’s heart was pounding for an entirely different reason.

“Watch me.” Ella grinned, holding out her wrist and doing another quick series of sharp motions before slamming her finger down against the fake watchface. “Blue Guardian Power!”

There was a flash of lighting from…somewhere and suddenly the bodysuit and mini dress were back. Ella struck a pose and effortlessly backflipped onto the glowing pad, one hand outstretched to motion him forward.

“Come on!”

Now or never. Toby copied the sharp, dance-like movements as best he could and took a deep breath.

“Pink Guardian Power!”

The bracelet glowed bright, fluorescent pink and Toby felt as though lightning was flowing through his veins. His whole body tingling from tip to toe but unlike Ella, he wasn’t changed in an instant. He felt that lightning forking through every pore in his body; he felt his strength, dexterity and speed increasing as his muscles stretched but there was something else.

He felt that tight body suit forming over his skin but it was more than just clothes; he could feel his very being changing right down to the atoms. His chest expanded, and his butt along with it. He could feel the spandex stretching over his cheeks and cupping them into a perfect peachy shape.

He grew an inch in height as those boots formed around his feet, complete with a heel and his shoulders sloped as the spandex smoothed over his skin. A mini dress formed over the top of the body suit and he felt his crotch being squeezed tightly, so tight in fact that it was almost painful until the flesh there began to give way. His cock and balls were pushed back into his body and replaced with something…new.

The lightning forked one final time, making the skin on his face tingle and his skull buzz as long, honey brown waves sprouted forth only to be quickly contained by his helmet and visor. For a second his vision blacked as his eyes adjusted and then the light was gone. He was still standing in the control nexus; in full Pink Guardian regalia.

And he was a woman.

Ella was still frozen on the glowing pad.

“...Well that’s new.”

Toby was very grateful for the opaque visor; he didn't even want to imagine how horrified his expression was.

“You didn’t say it would do this!?”

“I didn't think it would!” Ella cried. “Okay, yes, the Pink Guardian is always a woman but I didn’t think the rule was that hard. Nobody else's Altering Emblem has changed their gender!”

The siren wailed again and Ella swore, turning to look at the Tokyo monitor which was now showing three Morphlings causing chaos.

“Look, I know this is weird but we have to go, innocent people need our help.”

“Half an hour ago I was dropping resumes!” Toby cried, hating his new, lilting female voice. “In the past thirty minutes I have been kidnapped, had the goddamn world put on my shoulders and been transformed into a woman! I need a minute to think.”

Desperate, Toby slapped his palm against the gauntlet pad and felt his body deflate back to male as his costume disappeared. He whispered a thank you to whatever deities existed that it hadn't been permanent. Ella paced back and forth on the pad before flinching at the siren once more.

“Okay, I get it. I messed up, just…stay here. If I let those Morphlings continue to split and multiply I might not be able to beat them on my own. Nexus, one to beam down. Tokyo.”

There was a flash and just like that Toby was alone.

“Great, now what?”

“Perhaps I can be of some assistance.”

Toby nearly jumped out of his skin when the smooth, artificial voice echoed out of the walls.

“Jesus, if I get one more scare today I am going to drop dead.” Toby groaned, “my heart can’t take much more of this.”

“That is unlikely. At twenty two years of age heart failure is statistically improbable without an underlying condition and my scans indicate you are in peak physical condition.”

“And you are?” Toby asked the air.

“GAIA, I am the Nexus’ AI intelligence.”

“Why didn't you say something before now?”

“Blue Guardian seemed to be filling you in, I was not needed. She is now gone, how may I help?”

“Well, can you explain why the hell this thing turned me into a woman?”

Toby waved his wristband back and forth before trying to pull it off. The damn thing was practically melded to his skin; it was so tight; there was no way to get it off now that the clasps had melted shut.

“This crystals power radiates with feminine energy, no man had ever tried to use it before. Perhaps this is why.”

“Feminine energy, what does that even mean?”

GAIA launched into a lengthy explanation that involved science so advanced Toby couldn't even follow the first sentence and checked out. While the AI rambled he tried to get a grip on exactly what was happening; clearly he couldn't take the bracelet off. Perhaps Ella would have to do it for him.

He watched as she flew across the screen, fighting the Morphlings with amazing precision in that tight outfit. He swallowed, trying hard not to get distracted by the way she bent over and flipped through the air with ease. The things she could do with flexibility like that…

“...and as the band has fused with you, you will be unable to remove it until a suitable replacement has been found.”

That got his attention.

“Wait so, I am stuck being the Pink Guardian until somebody else with this rare aura thing is found? There is no other way?”

“You can die.” The AI informed him without emotion.

“Yeah uh, no.” Toby shook his head. “There are billions of people on the planet, how hard could it be to find another person with this pink aura thing?”

“The team has been searching for exactly five years, eleven months, two weeks and three days.”

Toby pressed his lips together in a thin line and watched as Ella valiantly fought against the Morphling all alone. Maybe it was all in his head now that he knew the brave hero was actually just a lonely woman who’d been handling this all alone for months; but Toby swore she looked exhausted. Even behind the visor.

“So I am probably not going to find another one before those Morphlings overpower El-I mean Blue Guardian.”

“The likelihood is zero point zero zero-”

“I don’t need the exact numbers.” Toby snapped before sighing in defeat.

He couldn’t let somebody get hurt just because of his pride. He’d only just met Ella but she seemed like a genuinely nice person, a genuinely nice person who was getting her butt kicked and overwhelmed by aliens right now because he was too embarrassed.

“At least nobody will ever know it's me.” He winced, performing his set of acrobatic signs before slamming back down on the transform button.

“Pink Guardian Power!”

The electricity was back in his veins; expanding his ass and breasts, covering them in that skin tight spandex and pushing his manhood inside him once more. The whole process felt like it took several minutes but when the light disappeared the Nexus’ clock told him less than a second had passed.

“Alrighty then.” He announced, stepping up onto the pad. “Let’s do this.”

~

Toby had never been to Tokyo, in fact, he had always wanted to go. But he’d always imagined himself shopping and seeing temples, not fighting monsters made of semi solid goo.

The moment he landed one of them turned, in humanoid form and lunged for him. His new body responded instinctually, leaping into the air and triple flipping over it before landing, perfectly balanced on the tips of his toes like a ballerina. He couldn’t help but wince a little feeling the extra pressure on his chest as the new weight there moved; but luckily the tight outfit kept them from jiggling too much.

“Pink!” Ella cried happily. “You came!”

“I couldn't let you fight them alone.”

Toby kicked another Morphling right in the face, his leg going almost straight up. It was amazing, his body was so strong, yet so sleek and flexible. He picked up a crate of newspapers from outside the local convenience store and tossed them into another creature with ease. This was exhilarating!

The two of them weaved around one another like dance partners, somehow in perfect sync despite this being their first battle together. Toby felt a presence behind him and bent over backwards, allowing Ella to stab the Morphling with her sword.

Toby felt his face flush behind his helmet; the sword was right between his new tits. He didn't have long to be embarrassed though as a second later he was rolling backwards, up onto his toes and punching another Morphling into tiny shards. The last one.

Toby was breathing heavily, his whole body heaving with the effort and aching slightly from the few hits he’d taken. Yet, he couldn’t wipe the grin off his face; his pulse was racing and his blood positively hummed with adrenaline. Ella turned to face him and suddenly dove in his direction.

“Look out!”

Toby was knocked to the ground as the Blue Guardian collided with him, chest to chest. A moment later a Morphling he’d somehow missed swiped with a claws hand right where his head had been. Ella reached up with her sword hand and shattered it before shielding her eyes.

Toby felt his heart racing for a whole new reason as he realised the predicament they were in. She was laying right on top of him; if it weren’t for their helmets keeping them apart their lips might have eleven brushed.

“Oh sorry.” Ella said, sounding flustered. “I just didn't want to lose my new partner on the very first day.”

Toby desperately wished he could see her face, or even any skin at all. He swore he could feel sparks flying between them but without a flirty smile or patch of pink skin to back him up, all he had to go on was his own arousal and god knows that had led him astray in the past. They laid there, in the middle of the Tokyo street, unable to think of a way to continue until the sound of screams made them turn toward the next block over.

“More?” Ella sighed. “Come on.”

She reached down and offered Toby a hand.

“Why are there so many?” He groaned.

And why do they keep ruining the moment?

“I wish I could tell you.” Ella said as they ran, “but I think it’s time you summoned your weapon.”

“How do I do that?”

“Just focus, hold out your hand and the words will come.”

They rushed down the street after the stray Morphlings; Toby could feel his thighs burning with the effort, and his ass cheeks sliding against the inside of the spandex. How had he never realised just how obscene their costumes were when he saw the Guardian’s in the news? They sounded the corner and Ella dove into battle; there were three Morphlings all converging on her. Toby needed more than his fists; he did as Ella had told him, holding out his hands and concentrating on the power now thrumming through his veins.

“Rose Thorn Lash!”

In a flash of electric pink a whip appeared in his hands; pastel with hot pink thorns all along its cord. The hand was patterned with rose petals and the pommel itself shapes like a budding rose. It was the sort of thing one expected to see in the toy aisle with Mattel written across the base somewhere. But this was no plastic, it had weight and it felt right in his hands; so right that he found himself smiling at it for a moment. He’d never been one for flowers until now.

With a trained hand he flung out the whip, grinning wildly as it wrapped around one of the Morphlings allowing him to easily dance to the side and pull it away from Ella. With a quick twirl he flung the creature through the air into a nearby building where it shattered. The movement felt elegant; beautiful even. His pride be damned; Toby leaned into it.

He danced across the battlefield, twirling and weaving around the whip as it sliced and shredded the enemy to ribbons. After defeating the final one he found himself posed, legs together, arms at his sides with his head cocked.

“Careful, this rose has thorns.”

His voice came out more sultry than he expected, so much so that it sent a shiver down his spine. Where did that cheesy one liner come from? Actually, he didn't care, because Ella was giggling and running forwards to fling her arms around him once more.

“You did great!” She cried. “What a first appearance for the Pink Guardian! You’ll be all over the news.”

She was right, all around them the crowd was gathering, phones held up to film.

“Uh, maybe we should go somewhere more private?” He suggested and Ella giggled.

“Good idea, let’s gather these shards and get back to the base.”

~

“You were amazing! Incredible!” Ella started as soon as they were off the transport pad. “I can't believe that was your first fight, you’re a natural.”

Toby blushed, not really knowing what to say. It wasn't every day you had a beautiful woman singing your praises.

“Thank you.”

Ella took off her helmet but kept the costume on; her eyes were sparkling and her cheeks flushed. Toby wondered if that was just from the fight or something more.

“Do you change back if you take the helmet off?” She asked. “I am sort of curious what you look like transformed without the visor hiding your face.”

“Me too,” he admitted. “Guess there is only one way to find out.

He flicked the gauges at the back of his helmet and pulled it off. Immediately he had to shake his now long hair out of his face, he pulled a strand before his eyes and saw the warm honey brown colour. So much more luscious than his usual mousy brown affair.

“Wow.” Ella breathed, “You’re really pretty.”

She immediately went red in the cheeks.

“Sorry, girls compliment each other like that all the time, that probably doesn't feel great to hear, as a guy. Sorry it’s just you look so convincing I forgot for a second.”

The words came out fast as bullets and Toby couldn’t hold back a giggle; she was so cute when she got flustered.

“No it’s okay…do you have a mirror?”

Ella nodded and began rummaging around in her bag next to one of the consoles where she produced a small hand mirror. Toby took in his appearance; the heart shaped face, the full lips, the warm brown eyes. Even if his helmet got knocked off in battle somehow there was no way he would ever be identified; nobody would think this beautiful woman was him. He ran a finger along his cheekbones curiously, taking in the soft skin there. If he had to be transformed into a woman to fight those creatures, he certainly could have drawn a shorter straw.

“It’s…not bad.”

“That’s an understatement.” Ella scoffed before clearing her throat. “So you’ll stay then? And be the Pink Guardian?”

Toby pressed his lips into a thin line.

“I…don't know how I feel about doing this as a woman.” he admitted truthfully, “But I can’t just let you fight alone. Maybe…maybe I can stick it out until we find a proper replacement.”

“Oh thank you!” Ella grinned, giving his arm a quick squeeze. “You’re such a nice guy…uh…oh my God. I never asked you what your name is!!”

Toby couldn't help it, he bent over double in laughter as Ella turned a shade of red that would make beets jealous.

“Gods I am such a scatterbrain.” She moaned, leaning against him and hiding her face in the crook of his neck.

Toby swallowed, reminding himself not to read too much into it.

“It’s Toby.”

“Well Toby, I look forward to working with you.”

He could feel the heat of her body through his suit and his own body responding to it. His new nipples hardening beneath the dress and his pussy growing warm. His mouth went dry and he took a deep breath; Ella was treating him like she would a girl friend, hugging like this was totally normal and not indicative of anything else. No matter how much he wanted it to be. But maybe…if he stayed on as the Pink Guardian and they kept working together, it could grow into something more. He smiled at her, resisting the urge to lean forward to press their lips together.

“Yeah, me too.”
