After everyone protesting, Patreon has decided not to go through with the weird price hike they were planning, which means that nobody should see themselves getting charged more every month. Your pledges will stay as they are now :)

I'm very happy that this won't be a problem for the smaller pledging patrons, although it did give me a lot of food for thought on how I'll update my tiers. I had floated the idea of putting up some of the stories publicly for all to see, so that people wouldn't be unfairly charged for paying only a dollar or two, and I still like that. What's more, if I post stories publicly than I can use the new early access feature that patreon has given me.

So as a possible plan for the future, how would people feel about having 15K words worth of stories put up free each month on my patreon, roughly 3 chapters of series, and that the $5 tier gives you early access to see those stories before everyone else? I know some people had been interested in early access, although I'd have to figure out  what would be an appropriate amount of time for your pledge. Two weeks? A month? Let me know what you'd like to see below. In addition to the early access there would be the $10 tier, with an extra 10K words that would be exclusive to that tier. Let me know if you'd rather see this system in the future, or the older set up I proposed for the new tiers. I look forward to hearing your thoughts, but most importantly I'm happy that everyone won't get charged more for supporting me.

i dunno. the thing with early access for monthly content is that it only works once. The first time you get to see stuff earlier than others, but after that it's still the same wait to the next content, your wait just starts earlier.

When I saw that I sent them a nastygrahm. 35% charge on 1$ donations is rediculous. I'm glad they changed their minds! Could we get an extra vote at 10 or have some extra input on what stories you're working on? There have been some stories that i wanted too see more of but got abandoned because of the voting system. On the other hand, don't focus so much on making patrons happy that you don't get to do the stories that you really want to tell yourself.

Yeah, that is my biggest problem with trying to put in an early access thing. Like it's great to get it first, but then it's just a regular release schedule. That's why I've typically tried to go towards the writing you get being exclusive for each tier

I'm definitely trying to make tweaks to the voting system. For instance it won't just be one vote you can use towards one story, but can vote for each story that strikes your interest, so it should be distributed more fairly. I also used to have people vote for all stories, and that led to me trying to force an update on certain series I didn't have an idea for. My goal is to start the month by listing the stories I have either done or in progress, and everyone can vote for what's available. This way there won't be any more delays to the updates since they'd already be almost completed, and it gives me time to work on other series. I know some series like Succubus Cheat Sheet fell to the way side, and I'm trying to think of ways to help out stories like that. For the $10 tier it would definitely be a narrower pool of voting so your say will matter more, and I'll focus on what those patrons really want to see
